Korea 2018 Day 7 & 8 : Hongik University -> Dongjin Flea Market -> Insadong -> Ssamziegil -> Ewha Women's University -> Myeongdong

Day 7 :

Good morning! Or I shall say good afternoon? Anyway time for our brunch! Where? Not other place but my favorite Yongsan Gamjatang place below our apartment! This definitely one of the main reason why I always stay at the same apartment building

Operating Hours : 24hrs

I ate here since years ago, from their menu that has minimum foreigner language till today they had English, Chinese and Japanese word on their menu!

Craving for this Gamjatang for the longest time!

The taste of this Gamjatang never fails me and the people I bring here too!

After a nice lunch, head to Hongik University again but this time round at a different area from yesterday night. Today it's Sunday so normally there is flea market here so we decided to go to the flea market we didn't went before and that is the Dongjin flea market which is about 8 mins walk from Hongik Univ station exit 5.

It's our first time here so we got a bit lost. Good that we saw a lot of youngster walking towards the same direction so we assume they are heading to the flea market as well so we follow the crowd and we are right! They are all going to the same place!

Very nice place with many unique shops here!

Here we are at the Dongjin market!

Operating Hours : 5pm to 9pm ( Friday )
1pm to 7pm ( Saturday and Sunday )

Bought a beautiful handmade candle from this lovely and friendly lady!

Follow her on Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/youssoful/

Accessories lover will long this flea market! Many stall selling accessories! Bought myself a 925 sliver ring!

Walk around this area after finishing the flea market to see what they have it here.

Qiuwen could not resist Bagels so she say she have to try this SF Bagels! Shop has the  European feel but staff not very friendly.

Operating Hours : 11am to 9pm ( Monday to Sunday, Close on Tuesday )

Guest house here too!

So many unique shops around!

Coffee break time! Saw this place online and really wanna have a try of their unique coffee! There is a reason why they are called Snowing café, will tell you why in awhile!

Operating Hours : 11am to 11pm ( Monday to Sunday )

Basically there is two level. The above level siting area is like a art museum which is very nice but it was so quiet but with a lot of people siting inside so I didn't take any picture of that area.

Found a seat next to the window!

Yes! This is their unique coffee, the Snowing coffee! This is also why they are call Snowing Café because their coffee really looks like it's snowing!

So beautiful right? And I love the taste! The café staff will serve just the black coffee but pour the white cream to show us the snowing effect!

Boring look coffee doesn't mean it's not nice, it very nice too!

Tiramisu was not bad too.

Last picture of the beautiful coffee and cheers!

Another café opposite Snowing café and seems like it's not bad too! But still need to try personally before I can say anything.

Left Hongik area and here we are at Insadong!

Don't be surprise seeing people wearing like that on the street! It's normal for tourist  ( and local of course ) to do that! Haha!

Had been to Insadong for quite a few times but I realise I have never been in to Ssamziegil before! ( don't know why also... haha )

Operating Hours : 10.30am to 8.30pm ( Monday to Sunday )

Quite big place with many shops but also with many people!

Many shops that sells local brands and nice stuff!

Wooden craft shop where you can engrave your name on the wood log and hang at your house.

They can also let the kids try engraving on their own! Too bad I can't take anymore picture as they didn't want any photography.

This place is really nice but not many shop that sells cheap stuff. Of course when you have unique stuff, you have to pay more for it right?

The lady in this candle shop is super friendly and funny! She can't speak English well but she tried to use translator when I ask her about the candles in her shop!

And so... I bought another 2 candle today, one Yu ja smell and my all time favorite, Lavender! What amaze me is that when the candle is burn, you can use the melted soy wax as hand lotion!

At the highest level, there is this wishing card area where you can write your wish or any massage and hang here.

It's getting dark and the weather is getting more and more cold so we decided to have some hot drinks again! This Ddo-ong café ( which means poo café ) is also located at the highest level of Ssamziegil.

So basically, everything here is about poo! Haha!

Haha even the floor!

Look at the cup! It's a toilet bowl! Haha! I'm having the rose latte.

After warming our stomach, time to hunt for dinner!

It's dark now and most of the shop is closing soon. Walked around to look for a place to have dinner.

Finally we decided to have Jajangmyeon! Yes! We have not had any Jajangmyeong for this trip yet.

Restaurant located at level 3.

So we accidentally book the whole restaurant again? It's so empty that we thought it's close already but lucky they are not.

Tangsuyuk! It's so good that we finish everything!

Mandu is not bad too.

Jajangmyeon is also one of my favorite Korean food!

When you can't decide what to eat Jajangmyeon or  Jjamppong ( spicy seafood noodle ), you choose both! This is a unique way only Korean restaurant offer!

Back to apartment and Wen had her bagel for supper.

Done with supper and good night!

Day 8 :

Good afternoon! Again we didn't wake up super early so we decided to hunt for our brunch at Ewha Women's University area.

This place is still my all time favorite! So chill, many clothes here and not expensive, not as crowded as Dongdaemun ( I stop going there already ) and can slowly spend your time here.

Brunch time! Not sure what to eat as most of the restaurant is not open yet so since this Korean restaurant is open, we decided to have our brunch here.

We ordered Kimbap ( sushi roll ) and the ahjuma is doing for us!

Tuck in!

Our Kimbap!

My Kimchi soup. Not that bad but can't compare with the one we had in Jeongseon Five Day Market!

Wen's spicy beef soup.

Time for some coffee intake!

Super small café so only for take away drinks.

Quite a wide variety of drinks to choose from.

All drinks comes with a free dessert.

So that small little piece of cake is their free dessert. Haha!

And Wen's is fruits tea with free ice cream!
After coffee and tea, time to do some shopping!

Eerie but unique shop here!

Continue shopping!

After few hours of shopping, time for some coffee again! Saw the poster outside saying cheese cream and this make me wanna walk in to try!

I love the cheese cream coffee! The cheese cream is so much better then LiHo in Singapore! ( personal opinion )

After the yummy coffee, the shopping continue at Myeondong! Crowded as usual.

Line friends shop that always have a long queue to take picture with that big bear...

Time to stock up some beauty products!

Dinner time! Didn't try this An Dong Jjimdak ( braised chicken ) before and Wen say that it's nice so I'm gonna try it.

Quite big portion with glass noodle in it too! Spicy but yummy!

And again time to stock up beauty products! I love their cosmetic but not this pinkish store! Haha!

A lot of people love their products so it's always crowded in there and often products sold out very fast.

After our happy shopping, head back home and here's my happiest buy of the day! Vans x Snoopy sneakers and it's on sales because they only left with 1 size and it's my size! Haha!

Anyway good night!
