Korea 2018 Day 1 & 2 : Busan -> Gwangalli Beach -> Busan University street -> Haeundae

Day 1 :

Yes! It's finally a trip to Korea again! You must thinking I went every year but why am I so excited right? Because if you realise, I didn't travel to Korea last year. Anyway self check in, as usual, went to the Changi Recommend counter to collect our WIFI device. Usually there is free 1 day rental for the WIFI device but this time round, there is promotion so there is 2 day free!

Bye Singapore!

 Boarding time!

My last minute made in flight meal by the air stewardess because they only left beef bibimbap and I don't eat beef so she went back in to think of other food to serve me. Thanks to her if not I will be starving! I guess many passenger don't eat beef that's why the chicken was all served way before the cart reach us, and there is a few more passenger around me that don't eat beef as well, maybe Singapore Airline should serve lesser beef and serve chicken more?

Anyway, ice cream time!

Finally reached! I actually booked a 4 day Korail pass but remember the counter that I change my pass at during my previous trip ( at level 2 )? Now I do not need to do it anymore because I have already printed my Korail pass and all my train tickets at home. This is so much more convenience without going to the ticket counter to queue to get our tickets.

Bought our express train ticket to Seoul station and now they accept Singapore Airline tickets for their discounted train tickets! They use to only give to people who fly Korea airline.

Off to Seoul Station!

Reached Seoul station and straight away we took the KTX to Busan.

Train to Busan time!

Reached Busan and walk over to our Airbnb apartment straight!
Staying at a apartment which is located opposite the Busan KTX station, also the same building that I have stayed before because I think the location is still the best for easy travelling!

Check the host out at : https://www.airbnb.com.sg/rooms/19570430

Tada! Our apartment!
The living room.

The Kitchen area.

Level 2.

Bathroom. Honestly, everything in the apartment is good except the bathroom, as you can see from the picture, it is not as clean as I expected.

After settling down, off we go to hunt for our dinner because we are super hungry now!

Specially come to Seomyeon station ( exit 4 ) to look for the famous Outdark fried chicken and also thought that we could do some shopping later.

But dinner first! Outdark fried chicken is actually origin from Busan!

We wanted to order 2 type of chicken and the staff told us it's too much for the 2 of us and suggest to get 2 half portion of 2 different chicken and so we listen to him.

Sauce to test before we choose what kind of chicken we want to order.

Now I understand why he ask us not to order 2 full chicken because even it's only half portion it's already quite a big portion!
The chicken is really very yummy!

Look at the cheese stick! No regrets coming all the way here for fried chicken!

Thinking that we could go for some shopping but only realise it is already quite late and most of the shop is already close, so we decided to head back home! Before reaching home, we went to the 24hr super mart just below our apartment to see if we can find any snacks for supper!

Look at the strawberries!!! And it's so cheap! Too bad Qiuwen don't eat strawberry and I can't finish all by myself too...

Never get any snacks but got ourselves some ice cream that cannot be found in Singapore to end our first day of our trip!

Good night!

Day 2:

Good morning! Taking the train to somewhere and this Ahjuma just shocked us with her skill and she walks like a boss! Haha!

Both of us haven been to Korea for quite a few times so we have already done with those 'must go' place so we didn't specially wake up early to run for itinerary. So we decided to go to Gemma's friend's café to have brunch.
The café is located at the Gwangalli beach. Took the subway to Geumnyeonsan station, exit 3 and walk towards the beach.

After exiting the train station exit 3, make a U-turn and turn to your right and walk straight till you see the beach.

Pass by a local vegetable stall!

Here we are at the beach! Blue sky but the wind is crazily strong!

The beach looks peaceful but it was actually super windy and cold!

Can't believe there is still surfer surfing at this kind of temperature!

Continue walking to find the café!

Anyway, tada! This is the cafe we are having our brunch, the Wonders café ( level 3 )!

Address : 193 Gwanganhaebyeon-ro, Gwangan 2(i)-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan, South Korea

Operating Hours : 10am to 7pm ( Monday to Friday )
10am to 9pm ( Saturday )
9am to 9pm ( Sunday )

It's a small and cozy café, with the view of the Gwangandaegyo Bridge outside the window!

Lucky enough to find a small table by the window!

We order 2 different set of brunch and additional pizza to share.

Look at my fluffy cappuccino!

My 'I'm Gentlemen'.

Wen's soup.

Wen's 'Sunday Morning'.

And our pizza.

Did we order too much? Nah... it's ok because we are on holiday! Food was actually not bad!

After spending quite awhile chilling in the café, heading to Busan university street to do some shopping.

 Wash WHAT? Haha!

Basically it's still cold so not much clothes to buy but I still manage to grab one! Haha and Wen left with empty handed.

Seeing nothing much to buy, and pass by this secret garden café, we decided to go in to have some coffee break.

A café hidden inside the secret garden walk path!

The tarts all looks so yummy!

We had some ice coffee ( even though it is cold outside ) and lemon tart!

The lemon tart is yummy!

After our coffee break, time to meet Gemma for dinner. She is bringing us to have seafood at the local restaurant! Meet her at Haeundae station.

And from the station, we took a bus ( 103 or 141 if I never remember wrongly) there.

My first public bus ride in Korea!

Many seafood stall around this street.

Walk a bit from where we alight and here we are at the seafood restaurant, Haeundae Mipo Sparrow Jogaejjim ( which means steam clams )! In my good food theory, always look for a restaurant with mostly locals, or all the ahjushi and ahjuma eating inside, most likely the food there will be nice!

Address : 50 Dalmaji-gil 62beon-gil, Jung-dong, Haeundae, Busan, South Korea

Seafood market just opposite the Sparrow restaurant but we are more interested in that cat, thinking what is she waiting for? Hee Hee…

It's full house so we have to wait for awhile but good thing that they put a tent beside with heater inside to let their guest to wait in that tent and keep warm at the same time!

After a while of waiting, we decided to walk around to see the night view.

Finally our turn! Here's the menu, basically I don't understand a single word and basically, there is only 1 choose in the menu and so we had that! Haha!

Their side dish are something that I have not seen before! Look at this tomato kimchi! You have to cut open it to eat the kimchi!

Tada! This is stunning! Our jaw just drops when we saw this pot of seafood mountain!

The scallop are big and super fresh!

There is abalone, hard boiled egg and fish cake inside after we finish the top layer of shells!

And after all the shells, at the most bottom is the essence soup from the seafood!

We ordered udon to be cooked inside the essences! Yummy!
And you know what?! This whole pot of seafood cost only $60+ for 3 person! Head off back to apartment to rest already because we need to wake up super super early to catch the first KTX train back to Seoul to catch another train! Tomorrow will be a "amazing race" day for us! Good luck to us!

Anyway, Good night people!!
