Korea 2018 Day 3 & 4 : Busan - > Jeongseon -> Jeongseon Five Day Market -> Arirachon Folk Village

Day 3 :

Wake up super early today just to catch the first KTX back to Seoul!

Why do we have to take such an early train? Because we have to catch another train and this train only operates once per day so we cannot afford to miss it! Haha!

After reaching Seoul station, we need to take the subway to Cheongnyangni station to catch our A-train. We are super lucky to reach the platform just 2 minutes before the train leaves and of course with some help from some stranger who helped us with our luggage!

The train journey took around 4 hours to reach so it's our sleeping time! Every time I work up during the journey, I saw the beautiful white snowy scenery! I can't wait to see and touch the snow for the first time!

Finally Reached Jeongseon train station!

Yeah! We survive all the running and train ride!

Basically this area are very quiet and we have no idea where to get a taxi too!

Our Airbnb host ask us to look for this “police station look alike” place and it was actually a taxi driver office!

Give the driver the address of our Airbnb and off we go!

Again pass by many beautiful scenery! Getting excited for our apartment now!

Tada! This will be our house for the next 2 night!!

Check the host out at : https://www.airbnb.com.sg/rooms/7892670

The place is so nice that I can't stop taking picture of it!

Totally love this place once we step in!

The kitchen that is just next to the door.

The living room.

The bed room.

And the bathroom.

We quickly settle ourselves and head off to the Five Day Market and the host couple are very nice to drive us there as they are going to another market too!

Off we go!

Here we are at the Jeongseon tradition Five Day Market. The five day market is only open during the date that has 2 and 7 (2,7,12,17,22,27) so just nice today is 7th so this is the only day we can visit the market!

Address : 39, Bongyang 7-gil, Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do

Very traditional market selling lots of local food.

Got ourselves some Korean traditional Hotteok ( sweet pancake )!

Yummy!

 Pig trotter!

Continue to walk and a lot of stall selling their own speciality! You might see everyone selling similar food but different people do in different way so it might taste differently too.

These sauce jug is their tradition jug for locals to make their own sauces! It can be seen in many Korean dramas too!

Look at those fresh fruits!

Have not had any proper meal since we woke up because we have been rushing for trains so it’s time for lunch! Walk into this very local restaurant to check if they sell something soup.

 A very small restaurant!

As there is basically no tourist there so there is no English menu there, I have to use my broken Korean to ask for Kimchi Jjigae ( Kimchi stew ) and lucky the lady boss do sells ( or maybe she don't but because I can only say Kimchi Jjigae? )!

Lady boss cooking for us!

Finally our kimchi stew is here and it looks like she put in a lot of ingredients! Very home cook feel!
After a quick lunch, our host finish their market shopping and is back to pick us up to go back to our log house!

Back to the house and immediately we fall asleep! I have to say there is some magic here that can let people ‘rest’! You just don’t feel like doing anything once you are back in the house!
Sleeping half way, I woke up and saw it’s snowing outside now!! ( See the snow on Wen's hair )
We are so excited to see snow because both of us have not seen snow before!

Had fun with the snow!

Time to have dinner so I’m going to set up the dinner table like the real local.

Dinner all purchase at the market because there is basically nothing up here!

Dinner time! Look at the squid that we bought from the Five Day Market!

The snow is slightly heavier already but it’s too dark to see! Even though it’s dark, we still had fun outside with our first snow!

Chit chat till quite late and now we gonna sleep already and hopping to see a view filled with snow tomorrow! Good night!

Day 4:

Woke up at 6am to see if I could catch a sun rise but nope! Instead I got to see a very beautiful view!

Fall back to sleep after looking outside the window from my room for quite awhile. Haha!

Woke up again and this place is too stunning! Our host has already remove the snow on the walk way for us to walk.

And he is still trying to remove snow that is on the roof top.

Went around taking pictures again because it's too beautiful not too! Looks like I'm having a belated Christmas! The host told us that this should be the last snow of this winter so we are very lucky to see it!

Our host is very nice drive us down to downtown again. The car are filled with snow so he have to get out of the car to clear away the snow.

 Off we go!

Look at the view along the way! I'm so loving it!

He drop us at the taxi stand at the Jeongseon market and there is a tourist information counter there too. We took a taxi wanting to go to the skywalk at Arira Hill but to realise the road was close due to bad weather so head back to the taxi stand and ask the tourist information staff where else can we go and where to eat. The staff there has very limited English but are still very friendly to help. He brought us to a award winning ( told by the helpful staff ) restaurant for lunch and slowly intro us what food they have.

There is minimum tourist there so basically we always feel like we book the whole restaurant for our meal.

This is the award winning ( if I'm not wrong ) wild vegetable rice!

Free Sikhye ( Korean traditional sweet rice drink ) from the lady boss!

After lunch, we though of going somewhere near by to visit, so heard from the staff at the tourist information counter said that there is a Arirachon folk village that is just nearby here so we took a taxi here which is like 5 mins away only.

Address : 37 Aesan-ro, Jeongseon-eup, Jeongseon, Gangwon-do, South Korea

Entrance ticket is 3000won each.

And again... not a single people here so we can take our own sweet time to take picture and nice picture of the place without photobombing! Oh ya! This is also the place where Running Man ( Korea variety show ) did one of their shooting here.

We all know how difficult it is to take a picture at a tourist place without anybody photo bombing you and you know how it feels when the whole place has nobody? Woohoo! Picture time!

The snow makes the place so dreamy, so beautiful!

End the village by having a cup of coffee at their one and only café!

Using our entrance to get discount for our drinks.

Coffee with a beautiful and quiet view!

We decided to walk back to the Jeongseon town area to get a taxi because basically there is no taxi on the road. We pass by a supermarket, bought our ingredients for tonight's dinner and some ginseng drinks for our hosts!

We are not very sure how to walk to the market but we ended up at the Jeongseon train station so we went back to this taxi office again to wait for a taxi. ( this is the only place we know have taxi! )

Back home and it's still beautifully snowing!

And again we do nothing until it's time for dinner!

Dinner is done!

Signing off this beautiful and unforgettable place as tonight is our last night already!

Good night!
