Kyoto/Osaka 2017 Day 7 & 8 : Cup Noodle Museum -> Tenjinbashi Shopping Street -> Osaka Museum of Housing and Living -> Dotonbori -> Aiaibashi Shopping Street -> Home

Day 7 :

Good morning! Everyday we pass by this Boulangerie Cafe de B, and finally we decided to try it!

Operating Hours : 9.30am to 9pm

Quite a lot of choice and some is quite unique!

Breakfast on the go!

I got myself this orange cheese bun and I didn’t expect that cheese will go so well with orange! Yummy!

Today we are going to the Cup Noodle Museum! So taking the train to Osaka station, walk about 7 mins over to Umeda station and alight at Ikeda station

Alighted at Ikeda station and follow the signboard and exit from the right exit.

Cross over the bridge...

Go down from here.

Cross over the road on the right and walk straight ( the red arrow ).

Walk straight and you will see this signboard, continue to walk.

Tada! We are here at the Monofuku Ando Instant Cup noodles Museum!

Operating Hours : 9.30am to 4pm ( Close on Tuesday )

So crowded even at this timing because school are having their school excursion here.

Entrance are actually free!

Now then I know there is so many favor for the cup noodle!

I can consider myself a cup noodle fan but there is so many favor that I have not seen before! Some has already stop in production but look very interesting and yummy!

History of the cup noodle...

Noodle for the astronauts!

I want bring back this! Haha! Just joking...

And the highlight of this visit is...

Design my own cup noodle! It’s ¥300 ( SG$3.60 ) per cup, not cheap but just treat that I’m buying a souvenir for myself!

First, buy our cup...

Secondly, sanitize our hand...

Now, time to design our own cup noodle!

Markers are provided.

Pearlie very focus on designing her own cup!

My cup part 1...

Part 2...

Part 3...

And lastly I draw the company trademark chicken in!

Our design!

Now, queue up for the internal part of the cup noodle...

My favorite quote, 'Keep Calm & Travel Like Olivia'! Haha!
They will ask you to turn the wheel for your noodle to drop into your cup...

Choose the soup base and ingredients...

That’s my choice of ingredients!

Saw that trademark chicken inside? Super cute!

Next, they will seal up the cup with the cover...

Followed by wrapping up with the clear plastic...

Off the cup noodle goes into this small machine to compress the plastic wrapping...

And tada! My cup noodle is done!

There is a counter for us to bubble wrap our cup noodles if we are going to put in our luggage. This is to prevent dent for your cup noodle.

Just take the plastic bag that is provided and pump the air in...

That’s how the bubble wrap look like!

Went up to level 2 and saw some people attending the ramen class. I wonder what are they learn in this class?

My chicken VS their real trademark chicken!

The chicken is too cute not to take picture with!

Got our souvenir and off we head off to the next destination!

SS18 newest cross body bag? Haha!

From Ikeda station, we took the Hankyu-Takarazuka Line ( every stops ) to Juso station and from Juso station transfer to Hankyu-Kyoto Line to Awajj station and from there transfer to Hamkyi-Senri LinegoTemjimbashisuji 6-Chome station. It’s more complicated but it will be lesser walking needed.
Exit from Exit8.

The Tenjimbashi shopping street is on your right side once you walk out of exit 8.

Operating Hours : 10am to 9pm

Lesser shopping compare to the shopping street we went these few days. Things here are less modern too. Anyway we shall look for lunch now!

¥100 ( SD$1.20 ) shop!

Checking out the bento box but doesn’t interest us.

There is Chinese food too!

We actually wanted to try this BUT! You can't believe how rude the staff and chef is!!!  YES you didn't see wrongly... RUDE is definitely the only word to describe them! You must be thinking how can it be right? This is Japan, everyone is very friendly polite! I have to agree, most of the Japanese are polite but some are totally not!
This is what happen... We open the door wanting to go in to have our lunch, one of the guy was ( still ) warmly welcoming us with a smile in Japanese, but once we said ' table for two' ( in English obviously ), that guy's face change! He SHOO ( yes! SHOO ) us away by saying NO! GO! GO! and close the door right into our face! We were totally puzzled on what is actually happening here so we stood there for a while and decided to go in again, but we got scream to go out again!!! At first I was thinking is it that I am holding to a camera and they didn't like it but actually it's not the camera issue because the couple in this picture actually walked in but got chase away too! I went to google this restaurant and that is where I get to know this restaurant DO NOT SERVE TOURIST! Most of the review saying is that they got chase away by the super rude staff! I just can't believe this kind of thing actually happen in Japan! How can they be so racist and choose not to serve tourist? Anyway some of the review from the local said that the food is not nice too so I don't understand why can they be still so arrogant!
Be careful of this restaurant! DO NOT GO THERE! I have never been so angry and criticize someone or restaurant so badly in my blog but this restaurant really deserve a lousy shout out! BOO! ( Thumbs down )

So angry and hungry so we don't wanna walk to look for restaurant anymore, we decided to eat Yoshinoya that is just beside that sickening restaurant.

Operating Hours : 24hrs

Follow the signboard, and walk through this door.

Too long never eat Yoshinoya in Singapore and I can't even remember whether the menu is the same?

My slice pork set.

Pearlie's beef set.

After lunch, we walk back to the entrance of the street ( where exit 8 is ) and walk into the building which is just beside the street.

We are heading up to 8th floor where the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living

Operating Hours : 10am to 5pm ( Close on Tuesday )

Need to get ticket from the ticket counter.

Entrance ticket is 600 ( SG$7.30 ).

Beside learning the housing and living of the past Osaka, we can actually rent the Kimono and walk around the museum.

This is unlike those Kimono that you rent from the Kimono studio which you rent for a whole day, here you can only rent for 30mins and there is timing for you to rent the Kimono.

Queue up to rent your Kimono.

The lady at the rental counter speak perfect English! ( not easy to find one though... )

The Kimono rental fee is only 500 ( SG$6 )! Now you know how different it is from the Kimono studio? We didn't want to go to the studio to purposely rent the Kimono at a very high cost and wear it for the whole day and to tour around, So I guess this is the best way... It's cheap, nice and get to experience wearing a Kimono too.

So we get to wear it from 3pm - 3.30pm.

You can also check which timing is not sold out or which other timing you want to choose.

Gotten our rental voucher and now just wait for our turn to get dressed.

Gotten our shoe and socks first while waiting for our turn.

I am done! Although it is a cheap rental Kimono, they still do have very nice Kimono!

Here we start experiencing the olden days of Osaka! We literally falls into a time machine!

Our Kimono looks good right?

Follow me! I will show you how Osaka looks like in the past.

So I get to know that, last time they write in Chinese character too and that's my surname ( Wu )! Feels like I own this fabric shop because of the surname! Haha!

 The medical hall...

The alley along the houses... We really look like part of the olden Osaka with these Kinomo! It's not easy to take picture with people walking pass you so we stood there for a long time to wait for people to clear from this "alley" before we could take such picture.

The unique part of the museum is that the "sky" inside will turn darker and become night time! There is sun set and moon will appear after that! So interesting!

It's morning again! And we are back to our own clothes. We actually wore the Kimono for 45mins and the staff didn't say anything. I bet they don't even know that! Haha!

After the Kimono and experiencing the life in olden Osaka, we went down to have a look on their history.

This is exactly how it look like when we are experiencing upstairs!

Off we go again. We walk from Tenjinbashisuji 6-chome ( Tanimachi Line ),

To the same station but now to the Sakaisuji Line and alight at Nippombashi Station

Came to this Aiaibashi Muscle ( muscle? ) shopping street to see what they have here and also see anything to eat for dinner here.

Address : 1 Chome-9-6 Sennichimae, Chūō-ku, Ōsaka-shi, Ōsaka-fu 542-0074, Japan
Operating Hours : 8am to 11pm
Most of them are restaurant but we never find anything we like here so we walk back to Dotonbori!

Went to Ebisu Bashisuji shopping street to shop a bit and hunt for food at the same time.

Gonna say good bye to this iconic place soon because it’s our last night in Osaka!

Again we don’t know what to eat. Happen to pass by this Japanese curry rice restaurant, Hariju Dotonbori Curry and decided to eat here since we have yet to eat any curry rice for this trip.

Operating Hours : 11am to 9pm ( Closed on Tuesday )

Very home run restaurant feel! Small but warm...

Our curry rice!

My loot for this trip part 1! You must be screaming OMG ( to me ) right? I know... I know... haha!

My loot for this trip part 2! This jelly is my favorite jelly ever! Yummy!!!
Anyway finish showing off what I have bought during this week, time to say good night! Tomorrow gonna wake up super early! And I totally cannot imagine walking down the stairs with the heavy luggage!!! Haha!
Sleep first think tomorrow!

Day 8 :

Good morning! Woke up early to catch the train to airport. I thought we are super early already but the locals are already going to work and school!
Stress level X 100! Haha!

Thanks to the station staff that we approach yesterday night when we heading back to our apartment, he told us what time will the train comes and which platform to go. Journey to airport takes about 70mins, just board the train from cabin number 1 to 4.

Gonna day good bye to Osaka soon!

Breakfast from convenience store and had it on our train ride to the airport!

Checking in and I thought we are early but actually there is a long queue already.

As expected, over weight! I went online to check that actually Philippine airline allow 30kg but the ground staff told me it’s only 20kg!

But the weird part is, they allow 2 luggage, each 20kg, for each passenger but they don’t allow a 30kg luggage... So the found staff ask me to either separate the weight into 2 or pay for over weight luggage. Of course I choose to separate the weight right? Since initially I’m going to carry one baggage up, I ended up remove some weight to the baggage and check in both.

Haha! After checking in both luggage and baggage, it’s 35.4kg now!

Off we go! From Osaka to Manila and from Manila back to Singapore!

Remember to put all your tax refund receipt into this basket before you go through the custom.

Inflight lunch!

Off we go again!

Dinner time!

And not forgetting ice cream time!

Sun is setting...

Very last stop will be returning the WiFi router!
Bye! Home sweet home time! Stay tune to my up coming trip soon!
