Brisbane 2016 Day 5 & 6 : Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary -> Queen Street Mall -> Gold Coast -> Byron farmers market -> The Farm @ Byron Bay

 Day 5 :

Good morning! Bought Pizza from Woolworths supermarket yesterday and the menu for today's breakfast will of course be pizza! Luckily the apartment comes with an oven, if not we don't know how can we enjoy the pizza!

Anyway off we go! Today we are going to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to see Koala bear and Kangaroo! It's a short drive from our apartment.

Here we are at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary! Getting excited to see the Koala and Kangaroo!

Entrance fee is AUD36 (SGD$37.70) per adult and apparently you can get about 2 or 3 bucks cheaper if you buy online but we didn't so we bought our tickets at the counter there.
Oh ya! Wifi everywhere so you can actually update your IG and FB with all the cute Koala! Haha!

The map of the whole place. Kind of big though!

First to welcome us is the bats! Huge bats!

Then the Platypus and snake. Didn't manage to take a picture of the Platypus because they swam too fast!

Yes finally I saw the koala! I guess she is sleeping?

More koala here! You can rest, have some lunch here with the koala bears surrounding you!

This koala looks so shag! Haha!

Bought some kangaroo food at $2 per pack.

And here we go to in to feed the kangaroo at the feeding area!

Spotted one kangaroo resting!

Feed the kangaroo some food while she continue to rest. Who doesn't like breakfast in bed right?

There is ostrich there together with the kangaroo too!

Sleeping baby in a sexy pose! Haha!
Asher totally got excited to see the baby kangaroo which is bigger size them him! So cute! Baby petting baby kangaroo!

More kangaroo here!

Hi there!

This brave boy, Xian Yi is feeding the kangaroo too!

Attempt for a picture with the kangaroo!

Trying our best to take a group picture with the kangaroo without blocking them! ( we still block them anyway... )

This is a bigger kangaroo among all we saw. Nice sleeping pose by the way! Haha!
Too many Kangaroo until Xianyi don't know who to feed.

Busy taking picture but still need to feed them so that they can pose for me!

See, they will pose cutely for me. Haha!

Asher trying to feed the big Kangaroo which is outside the fence who didn't get to eat like the others.

Time to hug the koala! Although I have seen the koala before but it's my first time to carry them! There is actually two option, 1 of them is to pay for the photo and you will get to carry the koala and the other one will be free taking pictures using your own camera but you will not be able to carry the koala.
We opt for the one that we can carry the koala! It's my birthday gift from Yiping! Yeah! AUD18 (SGD$18.80)  for photo only and AUD20 (SGD$20.90) for photo and calendar and we choose the one with calendar since it's AUD2 (SGD$2.10) different only.

The koala is so cute! And they smells good and smells like baby!

After hugging the koala, went over to the sheep show area to wait for the show to start at 1pm.

Inside the sheep's area! Beautiful place.

Show starts!

Looks like the sleeps is running towards me!

Didn't watch finish the whole show as we watched it before in Taiwan.

So we head back to have our lunch.

Lunch time at The Balfour Kitchen.

Address :
Operating Hours : 12pm - 2.30pm, 5.30pm - 9.30pm ( Monday - Friday )
12pm - 11pm ( Saturday & Sunday )

Having a corner of our own!

Food is yummy but price are at the much higher point.

Drove our car back to our apartment to secure a parking lot because there is the once a year Brisbane firework festival today and a lot of people will be here for this fireworks.
Rested for a while before heading out again.

Walk over to queen street mall again and before that, we went to Miel to get the well known burger first. It's always long queue so we are well prepared to queue already!

Address :

When we reach there is no queue! And while standing outside looking at the menu, we realise it's not open for business yet. This explain why there is no queue. But the queue suddenly become very long and lucky we are at the first in the queue!

We walk over to the queen street mall to shop again but most of the shops are closing soon. No late night shopping today so shops close early today.

We decided to walk back to our apartment to wait for the fireworks. Some road are already close for the big event.

The view from other room but too bad we can't watch the firework from this river view! The firework is at another side of the river! * Sigh*

Reheat and over burnt Miel burger but it still taste very good!

So we can only watch live from the TV while having our own cooked dinner! From the TV we can see how crowed it is at the river bridge and lucky we are with kids and baby so we decided not to go join the crowd, if not we will be like sardine fish on the road!
Went back to our own room after the fireworks end, rest and ready to wake up early tomorrow because we will be traveling 2.5 hrs away from Brisbane.

Good night! Oh wait, before that, while the man and baby are asleep, it's the ladies night! Haha! Drinks and snacks before sleep!

Day 6 :

Good morning Brisbane and bye for a few days!

Off we go to another road trip and a longer one this time round!

McDonald's breakfast on the go again!

Look at those cloud! Unfiltered picture yet so beautiful! Thank you being so beautiful on my birthday!

Reached after a 2.5 hrs drives!

First stop we go is the Byron Bay Farmers Market which only open once a week.

Address :

Pass by a school before reaching the market and saw their cute "flower pot" ( raining boots ) hanging at the fence.

Many stalls here and lots of food here too! Not to worry about being hungry because you will not feel that at all.

Popsicle for a hot weather!

Look! A mobile ATM machine! Like wow!

Had some salad as starter.

Bought some goza ( Japanese pan fried dumplings ) and to our surprise it's nice!

And we had some Thai green curry as the main.

And some fried corn pancake.
The stall cook is a real Thai so it taste like original Thailand food and of course it taste good.

And time to check in our apartment which is walk able distance from the market.

Not staying at this gallery but a cottage behind this house which I think is the host house or work gallery.

Check the host and availability at https://www.airbnb.com.sg/rooms/4457611

Our cottage house is a very open concept house! Very open and I am not joking! Haha! No window at all, only plastic cover to block the cold wind from attacking! Well... It's a good experience though.

Ham lock just beside the door and I guess it will be good for summer.

The living room,

 With no window.

Room 1,

Room 2,

Bathroom,

Lastly the kitchen.

Oh ya not forgetting the balcony and the garden.

Look at this little boss!

Head off to the farm! Pass by all the green hill and also cow and sheep along the way.

What a beautiful weather! ( Definitely no filter picture! )

Here we are at The farm Byron Bay and the first thing this little boy do is to chase the chick and hen!

Address :

Handmade ice cream! The ice cream is melting even though we just got it! You can imagine the sun there.

The animal area is close as the farm tour is only available in the morning at 10am.

But we still manage to see one of the gate open so we walk in to take picture with the cow! By the way... Non of the photo here are filtered! What you see is what we see there too!

We decided to join the farm tour the tomorrow morning and the restaurant at the farm is already full so we skip eating there and instead we went to their town area to hunt for dinner.

Walking towards the beach and pass by a street artist. Nice chalk art!

Welfie together again but with a different beach!

Sun is setting... Time to hunt for dinner before all the restaurant closes again!

Actually his place also have the 'Bali' feel! Don't you think so?

So we settle down at Mokha for our dinner.

The food was good! Worth trying!

It's my birthday today so my bestie bought me cake!
A cute joke of the birthday cake. By right Peijun bought me the cake at the Bayron Bay farm market but her eldest son, Xinyi was too hungry while looking for us and he ate it! Haha! So he choose another cake for me again. So cute of him!

Finally a proper group photo ( not welfie ) and all the kids are looking at the camera! Happy birthday to me! Haha!

Head back home and look how dark the road is! Too bad non of my camera can shoot a picture of the sky, but the whole sky is filled with stars! So many that we are so exited to see it! In Singapore we could only see a few stars in the sky but here, there is so many that left us speechless!

Went to the nearby supermarket just before reaching our apartment to get some "party" snacks!
Oh ya! I manage to see one shooting star while the rest is still trying to get down of the car! I'm totally blessed for that because it's my first time seeing a shooting star and the best part is I saw it during my birthday! ( and I make a wish after that although I'm not sure does it works or not! Haha! )

Wash up and start our party and suddenly we had a special guest! A cat out of no way! Haha! We don't have window in our apartment so we have no ideal when did this cat jump in!

Haha! This is the special guest of ours!

The cat settle down beside them without knowing Yiping scare of cat the most! Haha! We had a good laugh with this special guest at our party!

Party ended, birthday ended and time to sleep!
Good night!
