Birthday Retreat @ Bangkok

Birthday retreat with my mum to Bangkok. I bet everyone went to this place many many times. My mum said that its been a long time since her last trip to Bangkok so i decided to bring her there for a 4 day 3 night trip. Bought promotion air tickets from Singapore airline at $276 each and i found it quite a good deal.
Please visit www.singaporeair.com for air tickets prices and promotion.

Dim sum before boarding the plane.

Traveling with my new sneakers out for this trip.

Plane on the cloud now. And here comes our on board meals and entertainment.

My favourite!

Took a cab to pratunam area for our hotel. Check in to +Grand Diamond Suites Hotel | โรงแรมแกรนด์ ไดมอนด์ สวีท  and rest a bit before we head off to central world for our steamboat dinner at MK restaurant.

And then we proceed to my favorite supermarket - +Big C Supercenter  ! As usual, I just went crazy at the dog food section cause it's much much more cheaper there then in Singapore. ( My lucky dog! )

Almost half of the trolley full of my dog food! Big C is really the best place to stock up your pet's food! (only if you can carry home)

And my mum stock up for this. Haha!

This should be the longest receipt I ever receive! Beside dog food, you can stock up all your favorite snacks there, eg. Thailand seaweed, yummy tom yum maggi noodles etc etc... And most of their things sell in a dozen.

After putting all the stuff back to hotel, bath and we went opposite for supper and foot massage to end our first day in Bangkok!

Yummy crab bee hoon!

200 baht for 1 hour foot massage at 'Malatee' and it's really good!

( this picture is taken from google map )

How to go : Its opposite Grand Diamond, left side of shibuya 19 when you are facing it, walk staight till you reach a small ally where a wholesale hair product shop is, turn in the ally and it's the first massage place you will see. ( the supper place I went before massage is also at that area, just below centre point hotel. )

Day 2 :

People who frequent Bangkok should know this shopping mall - MBK! Basically nothing much to shop there ( the clothes don't suit us ). My mum wanted to buy a sliver bracelet and I wanna buy some local snacks to bring back home and work so we decided to go MBK to kill abit of our time.

Local delights of Bangkok...

Portrait painting at MBK... Pass him your ( or your loves one ) photo and you can collect it within 2 days. ( that's what I overheard someone asking so if you are interested just drop by for more details.)

After MBK, we went back to Pratunam for some cheap clothes shopping. Can't resist this quail egg whenever I sees it!

Some event happening at pratunam wholesale area.

A must eat crepes at Bangkok! Cheap and nice!

My Nutella banana crepes! I know it's the same old boring flavor but I still order this. There is salty crepes like ham and pork floss too.
Went back to hotel to put our stuff and rest abit before we head to our next destination.

Yup! The next destination is the famous Four Face Buddha temple! We walk from our hotel to Four Face Buddha and it took us about 20mins. ( a good way to exercise after eating so much )

Seafood dinner at a Dragon Seafood restaurant that we happen to pass by while waking back to our hotel. Food there was so so only, I prefer the place where we had our supper the night before.

Walking back to hotel and saw people selling handmade products outside platinum mall. I love this night market! They sell very nice personalize products like...

Personalize printed tee shirt...

Personalize bag and clutch...

Personalize Key chain...

Personalize wallet and passport cover...

Handmade leather Notebook...

And even personalize slippers! You can choose the size and colour you like and he will do on the spot for you!

Dog not for sales of course! This cute dog accompany his owner to work at the night market. I totally love shopping at this night market!
Please note that they won't be there when it's raining.

It's late night and we are heading somewhere again... Guess where?

Tada! We end our day at Malatee again! This time round a full body Thai massage!

Day 3 :

Start the day with the famous wanton mee located at Pratunam area, inside the ally next to +Shibuya 19 Shopping Mall.

Super small portion of noodle! I guess most of the people will think it's not enough like how I think so too. (Ok... i admit i am a big eater!)

Local delights again!

Happen to pass by this new shopping mall call B-Gallery, in the center of pratunam area. It's a very new mall where not all stores are open. I asked one of the shop assistant and they say the official opening of the mall is one week later. I personal thinks that this mall has a very cool and unique design concept. It is build in a spiral way where you slowly walk one store to another and without knowing you are already at the top floor. You can skip taking escalator or walking the stairs and yet you get to shop all levels!

After discovering the new mall, time for the usual and favorite mall -  +The Platinum Fashion Mall !

After a 3 hours shopping at platinum, got myself a cup of bubble tea and head back to hotel.

View from my hotel room.
Going out for dinner but... Jam jam jam...

Looks like it gonna rain soon.

Decided to bring my mum to china town to have our dinner and indeed it starts to rain.
My 2nd time to Nam Sing already and I found that their food not bad. And of course we will be having bird's nest and shark fin! Beside Nam Sing +Nam Sing Bird Nest Co.(南星燕窩)  , there is a lot of seafood restaurant and stalls there and price are all quite reasonable.

Of all food that we have ordered, I think the calamari is the only dish that is not very nice.

Pork neck is yummy!

Our dessert - Bird's Nest!

Shark fin!

In TV drama we always hear people saying rich people always eat abalone, shark fin and bird's nest. I guess we can be "rich" for a night! Haha! Basically those are not that expensive in Bangkok and most of the people went china town for that.

Just a random picture of this hotel which look just like a piece of paper and I wonder where is the rooms... How small can the room be until we can't see any thing from the front view.

Day 4 :

Went for dim sum brunch buffet at our hotel's Teochew restaurant.

I know it's crazy how much we ordered but since it's a Buffet so why not? We gt plenty of time to finish all and we manage to finish! ( Told ya i am a big eater! )

Check out the hotel after our brunch, leave our luggage at the concierge and went to +Terminal 21. I never visit that mall before and since we still have lots of time till our flight, so we decided to go there and have a look. Saw review that this is a very interesting mall, every floor represent different country and here we start our trip around the world!

Ground level : Rome

Every level toilet are unique as well so we start to visit all the toilet at all floor too.

And now we depart from Rome and arrival at Tokyo ( level 1 )!

The Japanese style toilet.

All decoration are so Japan style!

My mum's favorite!

Oops!

Visiting San Francisco's toilet!

In the submarine?

Quite a nice place to chill with friends.

Level 5 : San Francisco ( Pier 21 )

Toilet time!

Sssir, are you tired?

Yeah! We are going to Hollywood (level 6)!

Hello HOLLYWOOD!

This tall man stands from ground level to level 6!

My mum is watching people "filming"! haha!

Ok, now back to Rome!

Last but the least, the basement : Caribbean !

Not many store at basement so nothing to see.

Although nothing to see but still wanna visit the toilet. Haha!

Ending this mall with a fruity crepes!

My mango crepe~

and my mum's kewi ice cream crepe!

Before going back hotel to take our luggage, we decided to go for the last massage! We are so regular there till the boss also recognize us! Will go back to them when I go Bangkok again!

Now to the real airport and departing back to the real Singapore!

Light meal before boarding the plane!
How can you not eat pad thai when you are in Thailand?

Never get sick of tom yam at all!

Our trip end with a plate of sticky mango rice... how nice it is! See ya again Bangkok!
