Korea Day 5 : A day in Hongdae

Day 5 :

Its a Saturday today and there is flea market at Hongik so we decided to spend our day area Hongik area. First of all, let us find something to eat so that we can have more energy to shop!

We got attracted at the name of this restaurant so we decided to have our brunch there.

When we go in they told us that they are not open yet but they still offer us a table and ask us to give them about 30mins to prepare themselve. So for the next 30mins we had the whole beautiful restaurant by ourselves and we went around taking pictures! Not long after they open more and more customer came in and when we are about to leave the place, it is almost full. By the way, the food there is really good!

Look at the cute heart shape tea spoon!

After a happy brunch, time for shopping! We are heading to Style Nanda to grab some 3 concept eye product and also take a look at their ready to wear since we didn't manage to go during our previous trip.

How to go : Hongik University Station Exit 8 or 9.

If you are at Exit 9, turn to your left into the street once you are out of the subway exit.

Walk till the end until you see Aritaum.

Turn left once you reach Aritaum and walk straight.

Not sure if all this painting is permenant there, if it is you will see when you walk straight.

Turn to your right once you see S Nail and walk straight.

On your left hand side you will pass by Tapioca Factory and continue to walk straight.

Then, you will pass by Sara & Lilli on the same side and again walk straight.

Take a look out on your right hand side, you will pass by a 7-11 and which means you are going to reach soon ( but not yet ). So continue to walk straight until you see i Bubble Beans, then you turn left.

Once you turn left from i Bubble Bean, you will be able to see the the big poster on top of the building. Continue walk a little bit more and you will be able to see the store there.

There is a photo booth in the store and you can take as many picture for free! And ofcourse we did! Haha!

Picture with the birthday girl!

My happy buy from Style Nanda, a few 3CE cosmetic and this zip bracelet!

After shopping, we decided to go to the sheep cafe, Thanks Nature Cafe. This is a very cool cafe with two real sheep in the cafe!

How to go : It's the same street as the Ugly Stove ( opposite side ) but at the end of the street. Keep a look out cause it is at basement so you might not sees it on the street level if you miss their sign board.  ( refer to map )

Look at these cute furry sheep! Not easy to see sheep in city and not in the farm.

Is this sheep smiling? So cute!

We didn't eat in the sheep cafe but we ended up having our lunch at the restaurant beside the cafe. Oh wait! Did we just had brunch a few hours ago? But who cares about weight when you travel? ( right? ) Haha! So we had our light lunch at Uongole Spaghetti House.

BBQ Mesh mellow as starter.

Very special honey pizza! Yummy!

Spaghetti is nice too! Since its a light lunch,we ordered only one pizza and one plate of spaghetti to share among 4 person so its not that sinful after all!

After our lunch, time to shop again!

Hongik-Park Flea Market ( they call it free market ) is just 2 mins walk from the Thanks Nature Cafe.

How to go : Walk all the way till the end of the street ( same street as Ugly Stove and Thanks Nature Cafe ) till you see Hongik University ( above picture ), do not cross towards the university but cross to your right ( ugly stove side ) if you are walking on the left hand side ( thanks nature cafe side ). Once you cross over, you will be able to see this signboard, so follow the signboard and turn to your right and you will be able to see lots of people there.

Many youngster here! The free market is a market place for young local artist to sell their own creativity and only opens on Saturday, from 1pm to 6pm. There is also Hope Market at the same place on Sunday, from 1pm to 6pm and 1pm to 7pm during summer season. Hope market basically has the same concept as the free market.
Both of the market only operate from March to November, close during winter season.

Very crowed and pack with people.

Hand painted shoe.

Hand painted handkerchief and scarf.

Even the toilet is so artistic!

On the way back to the subway station, we saw people protesting but not sure for what.

While walking back, we got attracted by food again! Haha! This time round is the famous egg pancake! Yummy!

Just in case you are still not very sure of the place I intro, please refer to the map.

Next we are going to a cafe that I have been wanting to go so much and it's the dog cafe, Bau House!

How to go : Hapjeong Station Exit 3, Turn to your right once you get out of the exit.

Cross the road and you will see the Bau House sign board, turn to your left and walk less then 1 min and you will be able to sees it.

Another way to reach this cafe is walk from Hongik unversity but it takes about 15 mins, 1 subway station away.

Here we are at the Bau House! I got so excited when i see so many cute furry dog!

The cafe is separate into 2 section, the small dog area ( at the outer part of the cafe ), and the large dog area ( at the inner part of the cafe ). There is no entrance fees but you just need to buy at least a drink per person to spend your day with the dogs in the cafe.

I love this handsome Husky!

Cute fatty Corgi!

Chihuahua and Pomeranian!

Another Corgi with Border Colllie wanting to go over the other side to play with the large dogs!

Sleeping beauty but can't really see what breed it is. Anyway dogs and human are equal there so there are allow to sit or sleep on the seats.

The large dog area!

Poor dog got chase off while sleeping on the seats cause she took up too much space and we got no place to sit.

Name and breed list of the in house dog!

Look at that spaniel lying on the table like a princess! so cute!

Doggie doing stuns to earn some treats! So clever!

Dogs all over at this table!

Look at this long haired Dachshund! Super cute!

This couple have to give up one side of the seats for this dog to sleep! Haha!

More and more dogs coming to this couple! I guess they are quite regular in the cafe.

Awww.... looks at this cute lazy corgi!

Oops! I don't meant to take a photo of her peeing! She was running about when i wanted to take a picture of her and the only time she didn't move about is when she pee. Haha!

We have some communication problem with the dogs there cause they can only understand Korean. The only way to have them coming to you is to get a pack of dog treats! See, its proven! Using our limited Korean, we manage to ask this Golden Retriever to give us his paw!

Treats given for listening to our broken Korean! Haha!

Hee hee... another dog is here for treats!

Too many Golden Retriever there so not very sure is this the same Golden Retriever i feed just now. Haha! Look how big is this Golden Retriever!

Shih Tzu! This is so cute but we hard a hard time trying to take a picture of it! She is just like my Shih Tzu at home who hates to take picture!

This dog is here to do stun to earn my treats now and of course he got it! Too cute not to give treats!

Haha! Can't stop laughing at this dog!

I got a hug from the dog and it's almost my height when this dog stands up!

The staff there are very efficient in cleaning up the dog's pee to make sure no urine smell in the cafe! Thumbs up!

Is this dog smiling to the camera?

Omg! Look at this cute sleepy head!

This Gold Retriever seems to be smiling to my camera too!

Had a great tea time with all the doggy but time to move to the next destination. Just before I leave the cafe, I manage to carry this cute Chihuahua to take a last picture! I love this cafe so much that I will come back again when I'm in Seoul again!

Next destination is to watch some show. I said to myself that I will watch one show every time I come to Korea. So, I watched 'Jump' 2 years ago, 'Nanta' during previous trip and this time round we are going to watch 'Ballerina who loved a b-boy'. Anyway I have another show in mind that i must watch during my next ( not sure when ) trip to Korea!

I will recommend this show only to people who are interested or who loves dancing. This show only feature b-boy and ballet so if you are not interested in either one, you might not enjoy it. I did enjoy a lot though! Some parts can really make my laugh out loud!

Dinner time after the show. We wanted to go to the Sinchon at Ewha Womens University to have our dinner but we alight at the wrong station so we ended up having our dinner at a Korean BBQ restaurant around Sinchon station. Food there is not very fantastic and quite expensive too.

After dinner, we went Dongdaemum for further shopping!
