Coron / El Nido 2018 : Day 1 to 3 : Coron Island - > Kayangan Lake -> Twin Logoon -> Under the Sea -> CYC Beach -> El Nido Island

Day 1 :

Time to explore a new place! Going to Coron Island, but before that, we need to fly to Clark in order to take another flight to Coron. Wonder where is Coron?
Coron is actually part of Palawan Philippines, a new paradise ( for me! )!

Let's take welfie before everybody fall asleep! First trip with this group ( Alexandra, Weeqi and Kris)!

Good night!

Sun is up! Good morning!

First thing to get when we landed is not breakfast but it's the local sim card! Available just right outside the arrival door.
P/s: I thought I did take a picture of the price list but I actually didn't ( not fully awake yet ) but I remember the price are very cheap.

Anyway, Next, we walk over to the Clark Air Mall to hunt for some food.

Breakfast at Wendy's since no other place is open yet.

Look how small is the fries!

After breakfast and some time killing at Wendy's, time for our next flight! Departure gate is just beside the arrival gate.

Coron! Here we come!

Before passing the immigration, we need to pay for airport fees. I think basically almost all Philippines airport need this fees but I'm surprise even domestic flight that travel from once city to another city of Philippines also need to pay this fees too! Anyway, the fee is 150peso ( SGD$3.90 ).

Got myself a coffee to drink on the plane! ( Yup... drink can be brought up to the plane! )

Our plane to Coron Island!

Reaching the paradise soon!

Raining once we arrive Coron airport!

By far I think this is the smallest airport I have been to! This is the whole arrival hall!

Luggage belt that doesn't moves, all operated by human. Anyway, here comes our luggage.

Tourist information just beside the luggage belt. Took a few leaflet to see which tour should we join tomorrow.

So, we hop onto the van and get "dispatch" at our hotel at 150 peso ( SGD$3.90 ) per person. Just let them know your hotel and they will drop you there.

They will make sure the van is full before they leave the airport, so there will be a short waiting time.

Rain rain go away...

Here we are at our hotel, The Funny Lion! Don't judge the name of the hotel! It is actually a very nice hotel! Haha!

Waiting at the hotel lobby for our check in!

And here comes our welcome drinks from the hotel!

Tada! Our room! The room is bigger then we thought.

And they prepared welcome gifts for us as well!

Clean bathroom.

The tour leaflet I took from the airport.

We decided to choose JY Travel & Tour which is recommended by our hotel and also what I already had in mind ( after some research online ) before coming to Coron!

We choose the Coron Island Utimate Tour at 1500peso ( SGD$39 ) which seems to cover more interesting places.

We went to walk around the hotel before we settle down for our lunch.

There is a rooftop bars that opens later in the evening!

Jacuzzi while having party at night?

Here we are at the pool! Not yet for a swim but to have lunch at the restaurant beside the pool.

Lunch time!

First welfie in our hotel!

Coffee time again!

Most of the food we order are not bad to be honest.

Here comes the ( ultimate sweet ) Peanut Butter Banana S'more! Haha! You might love it if you are a sweet tooth person. Alex did enjoy herself while the rest don't and guess what? She finish everything by herself!

After lunch, rest for awhile, changed and into the pool!

Weather not as good as we expected but we are still enjoying ourselves!

Bathed and off we go for a good massage! The hotel staff help us to call for our transport, not sure what is it call but I will call it as Tuk Tuk ( because it look like the Tuk Tuk in Thailand ).

The Tuk Tuk is super small! Haha! We have to squeeze ourselves in!

Googled and found that Spa Norita has better reviews so we decided to come here to have our spa massage fixed!

Price list. Price are slightly higher but still reasonable, hope it is really good!

Before everything, we get to choose our massage oil scents.

As usual, foot wash first.

Clean room for massage and bye for now!
By the way, the massage is really good! We totally had a good rest during this 1.5 hrs!

After a good massage, time for dinner! Not a lot of restaurant that is still open at this timing so we decided to eat at Carls BBQ which is still open and our Tuk Tuk driver says the food is not bad too.

Operating Hours : 11am to 10pm ( Monday to Sunday )

Very resort and relax feel restaurant.

Kitten joining our dinner!

Cheers for our first night in Coron!

Korean Ramen will never go wrong!

This is good!

Over all the food at Charls BBQ is good and price is reasonable too.

Done with dinner, went to supermarket to grab some water and snacks and off we head back to our hotel!

Back to our room and saw a small plate of cookies from the hotel staff! So sweet of them!

Day 2 :

Good morning! Coffee first!

 Breakfast time!

This is their traditional drinks which actually taste quite like cocoa drinks.

Our ( bigger ) Tuk Tuk came to pick us up for our island hopping tour.

Here we are at the Coron Port! And we are ready to gp!

 Our boat for the day!

Our guide of the day. He will explain the place a bit before we reach every each destination.

It's a share tour so it seems to be slightly more crowded, you can choose private tour too ( with higher price of course )!

Reached our first destination and the crew start to prepare our lunch.

First stop is the famous Kayangan Lake! The guide told us that the water here is 85% fresh water and 15% salt water!

The water is so clear!

Found a cute kitten while walking to the lake!

367 steps?! Ok... fine... for the beautiful lake!

Tada! Here we are at the Kayangan Lake! I guess this place will look even more beautiful if the weather is good.

Indeed a beautiful paradise ( if it’s without the crowd here)!

The guide bring us in to a cave to have a look.

After taking some picture, time to go!

View from the view deck!

Last photo at the lake and off we go to the next destination!

Second destination will be another famous place, the Twin Lagoon! Here, it will be 80% fresh water and 20% salt water.

This is how we “swim” into the lagoon, we form a line by floating on the water and the guide will pull us all in! Haha! This save a lot of our energy!

Another beautiful place! The water here is very interesting!  At certain point, it’s warm water and when you swim slightly away from the warm point, it’s cold water!

Found our own “empty” corner and photo taking session starts! Haha!

While leaving the Twin Lagoon, it suddenly pours so heavily! But every one here still enjoying the lagoon a lot!

Ready to take our "train" out!

Next, ( singing ) 'Under the Sea, Under the Sea'. We are now at... seriously I have no idea where we are now! I remember them saying Ship Wreck but I didn't see any. Haha!

Even though I'm not very sure where is this place, I have to say it's so beautiful under the sea!

The fish are all so close up!

Look how clear the water is!

I totally have no idea about the name of the corals but their colours really look amazing! Hope that nobody will destroy all the beauties underneath!

Lastly, we stop by the CYC beach to have a swim and lunch there. This is how you can get a cold drink or beer! This is what we call a floating market?

Crystal clear is all I can use to describe the water here!

Photo time!

Tour ends, back to shore!

Back to our hotel pool!

It's dinner time! This time round we choose Santino's Grill restaurant.

Operating hours : 10.30am to 2.30pm, 5.30pm to 10pm ( Monday to Sunday )

The table are actually almost fully taken but lucky we manage to get a table.

Again cat joining our dinner.

The mongo ice blended is so good with fresh mango!

The 'Must Have' BBQ pork ribs here and it's so good!

Overall food here is good! Worth waiting if there is a queue.

Alex's dessert time again!

How can we not end our day with another massage right?

Operating Hours : 3pm to 11pm ( Monday to Friday )
10am to 11pm ( Saturday and Sunday )

The price list. Price here are much much more cheaper the Spa Nortia.

Super dark here so this is the best photo I can take here.
Well, for this price, we can't compare the price with Spa Nortia but the massage here is not bad, like those cheaper massage I always have in Bangkok.

Another surprise when we are back to our room! The hotel staff again left us dessert and also bracelet and a message!
Anyway it's our last night in Coron… Good night!

Day 3 :

Breakfast time! Waking up early for breakfast because we had a flight to catch!

Here we are back to Busuanga Airport! The airport is so small that the check in counter is just next to the entrance.

This is the simplest check in counter I ever seen! Haha!

Terminal fee again... 100peso ( SG$2.60 ) this time round. Not sure where does all these money goes to because the airport doesn't seems like it is being taken care very well with all the terminal fees they have collected from every passenger.

Off we go! El Nido paradise here we come!

All of us have to have this sticker pasted on. Taking Air Swift as that's the only choice of airline to go to El Nido.

And the whole departure gate is what you see in this picture!

Red carpet?!

Landed Lio Airport after 1 hour.

Reminded from Elnido Island : Take nothing but photo, leave nothing but footprints, bring nothing but memories, kill nothing but time!

Hotel arrange transport for us ( at our own cost ).

Here we are at our hotel, Karuna Villa!

That's the hotel lobby.

Massage menu but not cheap.

They can help us with tour package too.

Walking up hill to our villa!

Tada! Here's our private pool villa! For this view, worth walking up the hill! This room is also the only private pool villa in the hotel.

Living room.

Tv that doesn't work until the day we left the hotel! ( and somehow they can't fix it )

Room 1.

Open space bathroom 1.

Dinning area.

Kitchen.

Room 2.

Open space bathroom 2.

Our private pool!

Rest and relax with a view for now.

And it suddenly pours heavily and the staff quickly came to clear the leaves that falls into the pool!

Every rooms have 1 of this super old school handphone for us to call the lobby. Basically this phone can't even call out to tour agency or restaurant because of their phone line company.

So now, let's talk about whether is this villa good or not.
The hotel is very new, not very well known by the locals ( so we had a hard time telling drivers where is our hotel... ). The hotel is very new that not everything part of the villa is very well built, eg: The main door of our villa entrance is not built correctly, basically the door is in the wrong size, bigger size compare to the door frame, so it cannot be close and lock ( so no privacy at all ). The hotel is very new that everywhere is having renovation, and you can see the workers walking around while in the bathroom ( because it's open space bathroom ). Because it's a open space bathroom, so we expected some insect flying or crawling around. No restaurant in the hotel so no breakfast provided. Ok so far only the not so good point, here's some good point, staff is very nice and friendly, we even met the boss of the hotel and his wife, very friendly couple! Villa is clean, even after the heavy rain, our pool was filled with dried leaves, the staff quickly came in to clear the leaves to make sure the pool is clean. View is good because our villa is up hill. Lastly, it's quiet with no kids running about. I guess after operating for a longer time, they would be better.

Ok done with all the review of this hotel, time to head out for dinner. Used the old school phone to ask hotel lobby to help us book our Tuk Tuk.

We stop at the town area but look how heavy is the rain! Due to the heavy rain, most of the place has no electricity so it ended up very dark around. Luckily our hotel lend us some umbrella if not I do not know how are we going to walk in this rain!

Everywhere is so dark that we do not know where to eat so when we see a Korean restaurant call Dong Dae Mun, and we decided to walk in.

Address : Barangay Buena Suerte, El Nido, Palawan, Philippines

Operating Hours : 9am to 10pm ( Monday to Sunday )

Even inside the restaurant it's dark as the main lighting electricity is gone, they can only use the spare lighting system.

Restaurant boss is a real Korean so we assume this meal will be a good one! ( We had to use our handphone torch to read the menu! Haha! )

We never regret coming in to have Korean food! Hot spicy soup is the best for a cold and windy raining night.

All the food is nice here! Very authentic Korean food!

And again, ending the day with massage! The nearest massage place from the Korean restaurant is The Organic Spa Massage. The actual location is different from the google map by the way ( a few shops away ).

Address : Serena Street (2nd floor), Buena Suerte, El Nido, 5313 Palawan, Philippines

Massage is so so only, maybe is because of the wooden chair that make the experience not as good as other massage place.

Wow... After our massage is done, they put this note in front of us, asking for tips!

Massage done and time to head back our hotel to rest! Good night!
