DaNang 2018 Day 4 - 6 : Da Nang -> Hoi An -> Han Market -> Cafe Hop -> Home

Day 4 :

After a tiring day yesterday, we decided to go back to our chillex ( chill and relax ) life again. Woke up late for breakfast and left the hotel late too. We will be heading to Hoi An today! But before that... we have to head to the money charger first! Haha! I’m running out of cash because of the Sun World yesterday! Rate there is almost the same as Singapore! ( 16500 in Singapore and 16000 here ).
We actually booking back our driver that drove us to Ba Na Hill yesterday.

Beautiful view while on our way to Hoi An!

Here we are! The driver drop us at the entrance of the Hoi An ancient town and ask us to message him once we are done.

Address : Phường Minh An, Hội An, Quang Nam Province, Vietnam

So many beautiful lantern! Seems like this place is famous for lantern!

The ticket booth is just at the entrance and to enter the ancient town, the entrance fee is 120000VND ( $7.20 ).

Nice place with very rich historical feel! Hoi An is actually listed as one of the cultural heritage town.

Look what they have here?!

Nice water reflection of this little town!

Continue exploring the place.

There is actually many interesting shops and restaurants here, so give yourself a day to slowly explore the place.

Pass by a hotel and found it infuse with very rich ancient feel!

Even a modern café has the rich ancient feel!

Went around to took some pictures but the whether is seriously no joke! So warm and hot!
But is it just me or what? Don’t you find this place looks a bit like Malacca?

After taking unknown amount of pictures, time for lunch! Walk around to compare food variety ( and price of course! ) and decided to eat at this M Bistro.

This Frappuccino really save my life! It’s so seriously hooooooooot outside!

Yeah! Food is here!

So as what the staff told us, we suppose to wrap the noodle and meat with the cabbage and eat this way. Surprisingly this is yummy!

Local food again and I have to say, we finally had nice Vietnames food!

Saw people talking about this Hoi An style herbal tea, so after lunch, we went to have a cup of the herbal tea to try. It’s like lemgongrass with ginger. I don’t really like but Pearlie seems to be ok with it. Haha! Anyway, it's not expensive too, 10000VND ( SGD$0.60 ).

Another stall selling the same drink!

Lots of café here!

Wait! What? Husband day care center?! Haha! I guess many wife will like this place!

We are actually looking for a very instagramable shop which is the 'Sunday in Hoi An' shop! We found one but this is not the actual outlet we are looking for. But what so special about the shop? Let me show you later when I found the other outlet.

Oh ya! Too lazy to walk? No worries, you can pay for the trishaw to bring you around!

Pass by a art gallery.

Found the instagramable shop! It’s again ‘Sunday in Hoi An’, but this is their another branch within the same street but seems to be bigger.

Address : 25 Nguyễn Thái Học, Phường Minh An, Hội An, Quảng Nam, Vietnam

Operating Hours : 9am to 9pm ( Monday to Sunday )

They sell very cute and interesting stuff! But the actual instagramable is at the back of the shop!

Tada! Yup! This is the very instagramable wall of Hoi An! Haha!

The swing is one of their famous instagramable corner too!

The outside of the shop is also very instagramable!

Ok, continue to explore the place...

I guess it’s time for some coffee because the weather is really too hot! We saw a few outlet of this Roastery café every street we pass by just now so I guess it’s kinda famous here? Haha! Before going in, the exterior is too pretty not to take a picture with!

Very vintage feel café.

This is my life saver!!! Haha! Thank you to the person who invented this!

Coffee break!

And just before we take our first sip, suddenly it starts pouring and I meant really pouring heavily outside! It was like last then 10mins after we step into the café due to the super hot weather!

Anyway, thinking that the rain might stop soon because it’s a sudden pour BUT nope! It’s not stopping at all and so we decided to buy a poncho. You will see people walking around selling you either poncho or umbrella and please note that the most expensive you will pay for the poncho should be 10000VND ( SGD$.60 )! They will actually charge different people different price, so be aware!
Thanks to a group of Chinese shouting across the cafe for the price of the poncho at 10000VND ( SGD$0.60 ) and umbrella at 20000VND ( SDG$1.20 ) to her friends behind her and because of her, we get to know the “market rate” without asking ourselves! Haha!
I also saw a group of Vietnamese family paid 30000VND ( SGD$1.80 ) for 3 poncho so when a seller wanna sell us 1 poncho for 50000VND (  SDG$3 ), we straight away reject him. There is plenty of people selling so if one don’t cut the price, just reject and wait for another one to approach you. This is what happen to us, a lady approach us after we rejected the first guy, she wanna sell us 2 poncho for 30000VND ( SGD1.80 ), but we rejected her as well because we are very clear with the “market rate”. And then a young guy approach us and before he could tell us the price, the previous lady came back and stop him and shoo him off and she is willing to sell us at 10000VND ( SGD$0.60 ) for 1 because I’m sure the young guy is going to sell us at the “market rate”.
Anyway, be careful when you shop at touristy place, the price might be still cheap but they will still rip you off!

Got our poncho and continue to walk around the place with everybody beside you wearing the same “outfit” as you!

The raining town look different now.

I actually had fun walking in the super heavy rain though! Haha! When do you ever had another chance to walk like that right?

But I guess Pearlie doesn’t enjoy as much as I do so we hide under the shelter together with the locals! Haha!

At the end of the street is a wet market.

Finish this street so we walk back to the bridge where we can cross over to opposite side.

Before we reach the bridge, we found another instagramable wall! Haha!

Getting more and more crowded as the sky are dark and lights are slowly up.

This side of the ancient town is more on restaurant.

Another lantern shop!

And the Hoi An market is right here too.

Address : 3 Nguyễn Hoàng, Phường Minh An, Hội An, Quảng Nam, Vietnam

Operating Hours : 6pm to 10pm ( Monday to Sunday )

Super crowded so be careful with pickpockets!  And not to forget to bargain if you wanna get something ( not food ) here.

Again lantern shop! So they are really famous in making lantern I guess.

Very old school ice pop!

Super cute family outfit!

Time for Dinner! We decided to walk around to compare food varieties and of course price!

Spoilt for choice but decided to try the Hoi An specialty food from this Vi Que restaurant.

Address : 37 Đường Nguyễn Phúc Chu, Phường Minh An, Hội An, Quảng Nam, Vietnam

Operating Hours : 9am to 10.30pm ( Monday to Sunday )

We both ordered Cao Lau because we were told that this is Hoi An food and indeed I never see this in Ho Chi Minh City or DaNang before. It’s actually quite tasty but a little salty for the last few bites because of the sauce so if you are ordering this, better mix well before you eat.

We also ordered the White Rose dumpling to share.

Peach tea for me as I finish up my bottle of water already!

Rain stops and last few night view shot before we head back to find our driver.

Using the Vietnam traditional hat to make into a lamp! So creative!

Walking along the river to see the night view and the huge lantern display.

Many people took the little boat to put their wishing lantern on the river.

The same spot looks differently in the afternoon and in the night!

Back to the first lantern shop which is at the entrance and the lantern look even more beautiful when it's light up isn't it?

Youn's Kitchen? Isn't this the name of a Korean variety show? The boss must be a K-pop lover!

Anyway, that’s all for today’s cultural day in Hoi An ancient town! Time to head back to hotel to rest! Good night!

Day 5 :

Today will be another chill day so we start off late again!

First destination will be the famous Han Market!

Address : 119 Trần Phú, Hải Châu 1, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam

Operating Hours : 6am to 7pm ( Monday to Sunday )

Looking at the floor plan of the market, you know it is a huge market!

This place is really huge! I hope I can find what my mum want here because the grab driver didn’t manage to find my things in his car... and I totally can’t remember where else it could be!

Anyway let’s start haunting!

Went up to second level and it’s all clothes, shoes and textile. And again please be reminded to bargain price if you wanna buy something here. We have been to a few touristy places in different country and most of them are there to rip you off.

This place is similar to Ben Tienh Market in Ho Chi Minh City but maybe 2 times bigger?

There is dried food section...

Wet market...

And hardware section! Yes! This is what I’m ( or rather my mum ) are looking for! I actually didn’t see this section because it was hidden inside, but thanks to a lady that I approach, even with some language barrel, she directed me over here. And finally I manage to get buy what I lost the other day. Price is much higher here but I manage to bargain till the exact same price as the previous one! Haha!

Oh ya there is food section here too.

After getting what I needed, we decided to go chill at a cafe. And his Wonderlust cafe is just 2 mins walk away from the Han Market.

Address : 96 Đường Trần Phú, Hải Châu 1, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam

Operating Hours : 7am to 11pm ( Monday to Sunday )

This place is so nice and chill!

You can shop for some souvenir here too!

I ordered milk form coffee,

And Pearlie ordered milk cream mint chocolate.
Both is 45000VND ( SGD$2.70 ) and the surprise is, there is Aloe Vera bites inside! For SGD$2.70, in Singapore you can get a take away bubble tea without pearl, but here, you can chill in a nice and relaxing cafe and enjoy a cup of nice coffee!

It’s lunch time! Again looking for local food near by and before we found our lunch place, we actually past by the famous pink church. Didn't went in so we only manage to take a picture of the outside.

Happen to see this Com Ga A Hai while doing research on food near by and decided to have a try.

Address : 100 Thái Phiên, Phước Ninh, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam

Operating Hours : 8am to 12am ( Monday to Sunday )

Very simple and local restaurant.

Soup and sides ( for free ) are serve once we sat down.

Basically every country had their own version of chicken rice, and so here’s the Vietnam version. The roasted is actually very crispy! Much better then in expected I have to say.

After lunch, what’s next? Today is cafe hopping day so of course it’s cafe time again!
Saw on google map that there is a cafe call ‘Uncle Cafe’ just around the corner so we decided to go there.

Address : 32 Hoàng Diệu, Phước Ninh, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam

Operating Hours : 8am to 11pm ( Monday to Sunday )

They actually serve tea in these bottles.

It’s a big cafe, beside level 1 sitting area,

There is level 2. And at the second floor, there is two different sitting area too. This is one of them.

We choose this area among the 2 at second level because the air conditional is stronger and sofa seems to be more comfortable!

We just want to pass time in order to digest our lunch so that we can have our spa massage later. And good thing about Vietnam cafe is they wouldn’t even give you any attitude if you sat in the cafe with just 1 drinks for too long.

After sitting there for about an hour plus, I think it’s time for our massage! Checking out the spa near by and saw this ‘Charm Spa’ which has quite a good review too so we decided to walk there.

Address : 283 Nguyễn Chí Thanh, Phước Ninh, Da Nang City, Hải Châu Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam

Operating Hours : 9am to 11pm ( Monday to Sunday )

The price menu.

Took the foot massage this time round as we have been walking a lot these few days.
First, wash and scrub our feet...

And next, lie down on the massage bed for foot massage? Anyway, bye for now!

I think we are quite lucky because the whole spa suddenly black out! Haha! And the staff were all rushing out to get candles. Ok that’s a little surprise for us?

Anyway, nothing can stop us for having a massage!

Electric is still not recover even after our massage so we ended up having candle light tea. Haha!
Anyway, the massage was not bad but I still prefer the one we had in Rendezvous!

Book a Grab car to Vinh Trung Plaza for their Big C supermarket after our massage.

Address : 255-257 Hùng Vương, Khu thương Mại, Thanh Khê, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam

Operating Hours : 8am to 10pm ( Monday to Sunday )

Feels like I’m in Thailand when I first see the word ‘Big C’! Haha! Time to shop for some snacks to bring back home and work place!

Coffee stock up time! This Nescafe Vietnam Ice Coffee is my favourite and beside Vietnam, I can't find it anyway else so every time I come Vietnam, I will just stock up this!

 Indeed a BIG bottle!

Coke with ginger?! I guess only Vietnam has all these weird flavour?

Done!

Oh ya, any bags other then your handbag have to be kept in their locker.

After some shopping, we decided to head to DHC Marina, where the dragon bridge river is near by, to see the night view there since it’s our last night in DaNang already also also check out the restaurant there.

Address : An Hải Trung, Sơn Trà, Da Nang 550000, Vietnam

Operating Hours : 24 Hours ( Monday to Sunday )

We went up to the top floor which is where the 99 Sky Lounge to see the night view of the Dragon Bridge.

Dinner time! We went opposite DHC Marina to see what we could eat.

We ended up having Korean food again because that's the safer choice and cheaper compare to Singapore! Haha!
I realise I didn't take a picture of the outer look for the restaurant... Anyway this place is call Yuk Hae Gong.

Address : 463 Đường Trần Hưng Đạo, An Hải Trung, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam

Operating Hours : 9am to 11pm ( Monday to Sunday )

Spicy chicken! Yummy!

Steam egg is a must!

The staff cook for us too!

After dinner, we went to walk around to see the night view. This time taking picture with the Dragon Bridge from the ground level.

Welfie with the Dragon Bridge before we head back to our hotel!

Trying to take a picture with the restaurant with the same name as me. While waiting for our Grab car, the aggressive taxi driver there told us there wouldn't be any Grab at this timing anymore, they all went home already, so he was trying to ask us to take his taxi instead and the price will be the same. Obviously he is lying and was trying to get business only because when he saw the price on the grab app, he was saying that price is not possible to go back my hotel! And there is still Grab at that hour because I manage to grab one and the price is what is stated in the app!

My loot for this trip!

Day 6 :

Good morning! Time for our last dip before leaving the place!

Last tanning too...

We have actually check out the hotel before we went to do our last swim at the pool and we asked if we have any where for us to bath after swim and the reception are very kind enough to book the spa place ( only their bathroom ) for us to bath there!

Their spa menu which we didn't manage to try because we pronounce bankruptcy on our last day in Da Nang. Haha!

Remember the free high tea voucher we receive on the first day we checked in? Yup! It's time use it!

The view from the high tea place!

Here's our free High Tea!

We ate more for breakfast so we ended up having just this for lunch.

Time to go! Even the sky are feeling sad for us...

Grab to airport and had our dinner there. Seldom I can have cheap meals in any airport but I have to say this meal cost me only around SG$5! Anyway what's coming to Vietnam without eating Banh Mi ( Vietnam Baguette ) right?

OMG... Flight delay again... Why does Jetstar always have flight delay? Anyway, I wasn't feeling well since afternoon, feeling feverish since then, but thanks to a flight attendance who manage to get some medication for me which helps to make me feel better through out the journey back to Singapore.

Finally I'm back to my home!
