Tokyo 2019 Day 1 & 2 : Shinjuku -> Disney Sea

Day 1:

Time for Holiday! Wait... Didn't I just say the same exact thing one month ago?
Oh well... doesn't matter... and yes, I'm going for a holiday again!
Let's go!

Frist thing to do is to collect my WiFi device from Changirecoomend counter. Actually, it's been long since I booked the WiFi device from them because I’ve been buying SIM card more after comparing the price. But this time round because we have 3 person and Changirecommend having promotion so it’s actually cheaper than buying a SIM card. Oh by the way, something different now, we will have to pay the rental fee once we collect the device unlike last time we only pay when we return.

Bye Singapore for now!
First time taking Delta Airline!

Ok, welfie before we fall asleep!

Supper time! Or breakfast? Ok doesn’t matter but did you saw that? They actually serve Starbucks coffee on the flight! (But to be honest they taste like any other coffee by the way... haha!)

Ok, the real breakfast before landing!

Reached Narita airport! We came out at the North wing but walk over to the South wing to collect subway card from Klook. The subway card allows us to have unlimited subway rides for 72hours (in another words, it’s 3 days) at S$17.90, which is about $5.90 per day. For those who didn’t know, each subway ride is about $1.70 and above per trip so we thought this unlimited ride subway card is very worth it. We each bought 2 tickets to last us for the next 6 days, meaning if you are going to Tokyo for a longer period, you can just purchase multiple subway card to last you the whole trip. The 72 hours will start to countdown only after your first usage.

Check it out at their website :

And next, buying our limousine bus to Shinjuku and the counter next to the Klook counter. The orange signboard is the one we are taking. 3100¥ per person and we will alight at Park Hyatt Hotel.

Waiting for our bus.

The staff will issue us a luggage tag and number tag.

And they will help us to store the luggage on to the bus.

Off we go!

Walking to our apartment.

Finally reached after around 15 mins walk!

Tada! Our small apartment for 3 during our stay in Tokyo!

Bedroom and living room.
Looks small? But you don't expect Japan house to be big right?

Kitchen and washing machine.

Bathroom.

Toilet.

So nice of the Airbnb host to provide a portable Wifi router!

Settle down and off we go again we are afraid that most of the mall will be closing soon!

We are going to Shinjuku, so we walked about 7 mins to Nishi-Shinjuku-Gomae station and Shinjuku is just 2 stations away.

I already have a PASMO card, so JP and Kat went to get theirs from the machines. You must be wondering why do we still need the PASMO card when we already bought the 72Hrs unlimited subway card right? It's because we bought 2 card each person so it will only last us 6 days, but we will be there for more than 6 days so it's either they buy single trip ticket each time or they buy a PASMO card which they can use on their next trip to Tokyo, so they choose the later.

I have my own PASMO card with my name on it, got it a  few years back and I'm still using it every time I come to Tokyo!

Walking from Shinjuku station to Isetan.

Pass by this bubble tea stall and there is a long queue! I guess bubble tea is popular everywhere!

Still looks the same!

We came to Isetan because JP wants to get something from the Chrome Heart here.

Operating Hours: 10am - 8pm (Monday to Sunday)

And went over to Comme Des Garcons which is on the same level as Chrome Heart to check it out too.

Went to the supermarket to browse around and got attracted by this orange jelly!

So, this is how the jelly looks like! Quite tasty but not cheap! Haha!

I wonder how the taste of such expensive apple is!
Japan is so well known to have very expensive fruits, but the price still shocks us!

After shopping, time for dinner! How can first timer (JP and Kat) not eat Ichiran Ramen when they come Japan for the first time right?

Operating Hours: 9am - 6am (Monday to Sunday)

This outlet actually expended one more level, therefore there is no longer queue outside, unlike last time I got to wait for 45 mins outside, in the cold wind.

As usual, order through the vending machine.
Got our order tickets!

Queue for our table.

Next, while queuing, the staff pass us a form and we can just fill in our preference, e.g. Spicier, with/without spring onion, etc.

Gotten our seats!

The staff will come and collect your order tickets and the form that you filled up.

Eggs always come first!

Free flow of water!

And my ramen is here!

Yeah! I still get excited to eat Ichiran ramen even though I'm not a first timer here! Haha!

Gone! Like how I always eat! Yummy!

After dinner, most of the place is close, so we went to the Don-Quijote ( a.k.a Don Don Donki ) and they open 24hrs!

Operating Hours: 24hrs (Monday - Sunday)

Just our first night here, so we aren't getting a lot of stuff yet! Gonna compare prices around first!

Not forgetting get our tax refunded on the spot at the tax refund counter.

After a small shopping spree, JP's friend who works in Japan came to meet us for supper.

We went nearby restaurant, Sanagi Shinjuku, which is still open to get some small bites and drinks.

Operating Hours: 11am - 11pm (Monday - Sunday)

Food here is normal, not bad but not fantastic too.

Back to apartment before there is no more train! Taxi here in Japan is crazily expensive!
Here a white peach jelly to end our first day!

Day 2:

Good morning! We woke up really early because we are going Disney Sea today!
Booked our Disney Sea from Klook and the meeting point is at Shinjuku Washington Hotel, which is just next to Park Hyatt Hotel, where we alight at yesterday from the airport limousine.
Since it is next to Park Hyatt Hotel, we need not extra time to look for the meeting point as we already know the way.
Beside it is near our apartment, we choose this meet up point partly also because it is the latest timing for our bus pick up, which means more sleep! Haha.

The meeting point is right beside the family mart in the hotel.

Klook staff will come and check your ticket, basically you can just use the e-tickets that they send to you.
We purchase the Disney Sea ticket + round trip bus 1 day package at $123.40 per person. If you do not need the round-trip bus, you can just purchase the entrance ticket package.

Check it out at their website:

They will do a short brief of where and what time to meet in the evening at the Disney Sea in order to take their bus back to this same hotel. If you miss the bus, you have to find your own way to go back. By the way, the taxi in Japan is no joke! So, you better keep in mind of the timing and not miss the bus!

After verifying our e-tickets, they will issue us the Disney Sea ticket.

Off we go!

Grab some coffee and onigiri at the family mart while waiting for them to verify our e-ticket earlier on and had our quick breakfast on the bus.

The bus was full and even the aisle has seats!

Disney Sea here we come!

Yeah! We reached!
I am not a fan of Disney but what's coming to Tokyo without visiting their famous Disneyland and DisneySea right?

Gotta queue but the queue was fast.

Kat was so happy that she gotten the chipmunk ticket! Look at her matching phone case and ezlink charm (Singapore's transport card in a charm form)!

Ok, this look like Universal Studio Singapore! Haha!

Just nice there is band performance when we stepped in!
Remind me of my school days! (I use to play saxophone in band back in my school days!)

Maps and show timing in different languages so just pick 1 for your reference and so you don't get lost or miss the show.

First stops are to visit the souvenir store!

And we spend a good 30 mins inside just to take pictures!

Minniesss...

Kat and her chipmunk and JP with her favorite Winnie the Pooh!

While they are still shopping, I went out to watch the band performance and also manage to take a picture with their saxophone player (I use to be a saxophone player in my secondary school too)!

Back to the store! I do not have a favorite Disney character and since I'm wearing a Mickey Mouse top (purposely wear this for Disneyland), so I shall take a picture with the Mickey Mouse ear!
We didn't get any of the cute headband, but we got ourselves a DisneySea top as a souvenir but it's short sleeve, so we didn't intend to change on the spot!

Went over to the next store to see what they are selling and WOW! Even the famous Tokyo banana has Mickey printed on it!

Oh and a wolf (don't know who is this character) came to say hi while we are stopping!

Ok, after like 1 hour, we finally enter the actual place!
Yes, we got stuck at those cute store... I bet everyone too!

Show timing!

There is hotel here if you think 1 day here is not enough, you can consider staying at their hotel there!

The weather is a little gloomy but glad that it doesn't rain, and we are very thankful that it is not sunny and hot!

Saw people queuing up but not sure for what. I guess is some performance?

Another souvenir store! People with 0 resistance skill on cute things, good luck to you! Glad 3 of us is kind of good with the skill.

Again see people queuing and went up so check it out.

Ok, they are queuing up for ice cream.
Nah.. we are not interested.

And again...

Didn't buy but took picture instead!

Continue exploring the place and came across this part of the park that looks like we went to some European country!

Having a pit rest while we take turn to the ladies and at the same time enjoying the view.

And photo taking! Haha!

Popcorn! Do you know in all Disneyland and DisneySea, each popcorn cart you see sells different popcorn box!

And this popcorn cart is Mickey on a ship which also represent DisneySea!

Happy Kat with her Mickey popcorn box!

I have to say the popcorn box are really cute! I'm sure people buy the popcorn not because they want to eat popcorn buy mainly is they want the popcorn box!

Continue walking...

The X number of souvenir store we saw and walked in. Most of the store sells different product so we just have to enter and see what we can find in each store!

Welfie time!
The place is not as crowded as I thought but mainly because I think the park is big and the crowd is spread around.
I went the Hong Kong one before and it was disaster! So crowded!

Many nice and cute place for you to take picture!

Food time!

Bought this Toy Story mochi!

Was thinking most likely it is an "IG purpose" food (looks cute but taste bad) but surprisingly taste not bad! Comes in 3 different filling!

Gotten myself an ice cream too!

It's a Minnie Mouse ice cream!

This is Duffy and apparently, she is so famous! So many people dress like her in the park and to take picture with Duffy! I'm impress on how they really dress up exactly like the cartoon character!

For the Toy Story fan who is reading my blog!

Another band performance.

Happy girl at happy land!

The ship looks like Kat's Mickey Mouse popcorn box!

Just in time for a show! Finally, we can sit down after walking around for so long.

They all look so happy dancing and singing on the stage, and of course they spread their joy to the audience too!

The character will walk down to say hi to you!
All the inner child in the adult will show up at this point of time.

Another popcorn cart!

And this time round is Duffy!

Now JP's turn to get popcorn (box)!

And it's the Toy Story popcorn box!

This pose is too funny!

So basically, the fashion around the park looks like this! Popcorn box is like the latest trendy handbag here.
And yup I'm out of the trend because I'm not interested in getting the popcorn box despite them being cute.

Went into the restaurant to see what we shall have for lunch.

Apparently, the Disney character section is full (left the normal food area) and so we decided not to eat here since we are not that hungry too.

Suddenly we walked into a village!

Kat found her "soulmate" I guess?

Long queue for rides and it's normal everywhere.

Nemo popcorn box!

At the Nemo and Mermaid area!

Again, pit rest and coffee are much needed at this point of time.

Look at the churros! It's in Mickey Mouse shape!

Saw someone else Mickey Mouse popcorn box and it is so cute!

Jaw drops when I saw them walked pass!
So many questions fly through my head!
Isn't it heavy? How many Donald duck are there? How much did you spend on all there? How many times have you been to Disneyland? Haha, I guess I will never get the answer but WOW, I'm very impress!

Another souvenir store and I like the interior!

Time for a late lunch!
We just randomly walk into the Sakura restaurant for our lunch.

Food was not bad!

All three ordered different food so we can have a bit of each! Overall food was not bad.

Sun is setting! Due to the gloomy weather today so we didn't get to see beautiful sunset.

Tea break time before the finale shows and fireworks starts!

Got the Toy Story mochi again! Also got us some cute Mickey Mouse pastry.

The finale show starts! This will be the last show, and which means the place will be closing soon!
Not gonna pose too many pictures of the show because the show looks better in real life!

We thought the show has ended and people starts to leave the park and while we are already walking toward our bus meeting place, suddenly we hear fireworks, and we stop to watch.

Ok that's all for today! We are heading back home to rest now!
Good night!
