I Love Taiwan day 1 & 2 : Suntanning at Kenting and breathing fresh air in Cing jing

Going to one of my favourite country again! My 4th time exploring Taiwan, lets see what's new this time! Follow me for a 7 Days 6 Night @ Taiwan trip!

DAY 1 :

1st time taking Scoot Airline. Took a midnight flight at 12.55am and will reach Taipei in the next morning at 5.40am. ( about 5 hrs flight )

Check out their air tickets at  http://www.flyscoot.com

Pictures in the toilet before boarding the plane.

We..... travel with style! Haha!

Selfie before we have to off all our electronic devices.

Beautiful sun light coming out and that means we are reaching Taipei soon!

Due to taking budget airline, we are so hungry once we landed. 1st thing we do is go to their family mart to grab something to eat. This is [ Guan Dong Zhu ] a.k.a our yong tau fu, can be found at most of the convenience store, most of them sell clear soup and some sell spicy soup like this. Its the best food if you were in Taiwan during the winter season!

My favourite drink that I must drink whenever I'm in Taiwan! Can be found in all convenience store. Trust me! Grab one if you sees it!

Our 1st destination is Kenting ( 垦丁 )! So what we gonna do is buy the bus tickets to Tao Yuan High Speed Railway Train station, 高铁 ( THSR ), and from there, take the THSR to Zuo Ying ( 左营 ).

Iphone user can download this app call ' Tour Taiwan ' so that you can check their train timing. All timing are accurate.

Price for the THSR. I will recommend to buy the standard tickets. Non-reserved tickets are without seats appoint so there is a high chance that you do not have any seats and you have to stand till your destination.

Off we go to  Zuo Ying!

Our breakfast on the THSR train. Food are allow in the train, but if you didn't buy anything to munch on the train, don't worry cause there is always a person pushing a cart selling food.

My favourite drink and my window seats.
Take a nap and will reach Zuo Ying when you open your eyes.

From Zuo Ying to Kenting took about 2 Hrs car ride. Book the ming su ( home stay ) together with a shared taxi from the ming su boss before we left for Taiwan.

After the looooong ride, finally we reach our ming su, Love Sea 126 ( 恋海126 ) . Its a ming su open by a couple, Kenny and Jenny. Very friendly bosses! We took the 9am car and reach about 11am plus and its still too early for us to check in so we change our clothes and went to Heng Chun Township ( 恒村 ) to buy our phone card and also hunt for our lunch. Was asking how to go to Heng Chun and Jenny told us that just nice that Kenny is going back home ( at Heng Chun ) to do something so he can drop us there.

Price for Share car to Kenting : NT$350 ( SG$ 14.80 ) Per Person. Pick up time is from 9 am to 5pm.

Please visit   http://www.lovesea126.idv.tw/ for more details and booking.

The front yard of our ming su.
View outside from our lobby.
Kenny drop us at one of the hand phone shop for us to purchase the phone card. We waited for so long due to a big group in front of us also wanting to purchase the phone card and after the long waiting time, the lady boss told us we need 2 identity to buy the phone card. We only have our passport with us and therefore we are not able to purchase it. We tried to ask the lady boss to help us but she said its their country rule so nothing she can do. Since we can't purchase the phone card, we ask the lady boss to help us call Kenny to fetch us and she is very nice to ask Kenny if he could help us by lending us his identity card.  Knowing that the phone card will be expired after 6 months, Kenny helped us by using his identity to help us purchase the phone card ( we really met many nice people ). One person can only purchase one card, therefore we share the phone card. Its quite worth to get it as it only cost around NT$400 ( SG$16.90 ), depends on how many days you need, and you can have unlimited usage of internet and also NT$100 worth of phone calling.
P/s: You can purchase the phone card from the airport too but they only open at 10am. Please remember to bring 1 more identity ( I/C, Student card or car license ) beside your passport if you are thinking of getting the phone card.
After our ' not so easy to get ' phone card, time for our lunch! Saw this classroom theme restaurant from my Taiwan travel guide and thought its quite interesting so we told Kenny and he drove us there. After dropping us at the restaurant, he taught us how to go back to our ming su after our lunch because he wouldn't be free to fetch us after that.
Cute interior! Really look like classroom!
Textbook? Menu?
Ice grapefruit to fight the super hot day!
My cheese pork cutlet set.
Its a nice place to gather with your friends. ( look at the big group behind me )
Teresa had kimchi pork cutlet set.
The restaurant owner's cat using her cat bowl. So cute!
After lunch, we took a bus back to our ming su. Finally we can check in. Our room is at level 4 and sad that there is no lift, so we need to carry our big luggage and climb up the stair! *Faint*
Anyway, this is the view from our room.
After we settle down in the ming su, we walk over to the beach to have some sun tanning and also enjoy the sea breeze.
There is different type of beach there. There is place for water spots, place for surfing and place like this for people to just enjoy the breeze and play in the water.
The sun goes down and time for dinner. We went to Kenting street ( 垦丁大街 ), which is just behind our ming su to hunt for our dinner and also shop around there. Super crowed in the evening! People mountain people sea!
Had the Taiwan strawberry beer for the warm evening,
Hand made key chain!
Dinner at the seafood restaurant but end up we didn't eat any seafood. Haha!
After dinner, we continue to walk around the street. Lots of yummy snacks there!
Yummy Dorayaki that comes with a lot of flavour.
Super big pack of local titbits!

Smelly tofu! I love smelly tofu but I'm too full to continue eating. For those who thinks smelly tofu is smelly, oh well... the name says it, but it is really yummy!
End up we still buy a pack of fried mushroom to share.
Dessert for the night is the hand made mango ice cream! Yummy!

After shopping at the Kenting street, we are really tired so we decided to go back to rest at our ming su and also sleep early for next day. Saw people playing with fire works at the beach while we are in our room!

DAY 2 :

Woke up early to take again the 9am car back to Zuo Ying THSR for our next destination, Cing Jing ( 清境 ). Due to the shared car, we are late for our initially train and therefore we are late for our pick up which is at 12.40pm at Taichung too. I call up the driver and told him we could not make it in time and he say its okay and told us to take a later car which is at 2.40pm.
Cost of transport to Chin Jing :
 NT$400 ( SG$16.90 ) per person for shared taxi,
NT$2000 for private car,4 pax  and NT$2300 for 5-8pax.
you can call  +886 977141669 or visit their website at http://www.gotw-travel.com/ for more details.
While in the train, on our way to Taichung ( 台中 ), we had our breakfast prepared by Jenny.
Next destination, Taichung!

At the Taichung station, reach there about 1pm and there is quite a bit of time to 2.40pm so we thought of siting down at one of the café to chill and wait for the time to pass but everywhere is full!

So without anywhere for us to sit down, we start roaming around the train station. We went to the Taichung Railway station which is just beside the THSR station and saw the carton king restaurant and also some exhibition there.
Train made of carton! So cool!
Even the restaurant wall are made of cardboard!
Cardboard wishing tree.
"Paper" bags selling at the souvenir shop beside the restaurant. Wanted to go have some drinks in the restaurant but was full too.
Still looking for wooden horse? Update yourself and get the cardboard horse!
Continue to explore the train station and saw a class room there!

Oh... Inside the classroom are selling all the old school candies and snacks and I realise some of the candies do sell in Singapore when I'm still a kid! Maybe some of the mama shop still sells now but those are the good memories...

A very vintage corner and I see a very old ice kachang machine there!

Another piece of art but this time round is made of all the old train tickets! How cool is this!

People writing their wishes and hang there.
Their captain's office, but no longer in used.
Times up, meet our driver at the car park and on our way up the mountain with a fantastic weather!

After a 1.5hr ride, finally we reach our beautiful resort, Ming Ging Cing Jing Hotel and Resort ( 明琴清境 )!
Please visit http://www.mg.com.tw/page.php for more details or booking.
The lobby with peter rabbit everywhere.
The front yard.

Our room with a spectacular view!

The view outside our window.
Munched the Dorayaki that we bought from the Kenting street before we head off to tour around the resort.

Looking at our room from level 1. Our room is at level 2 and again there is no lift! But lucky there is someone who help to carry our luggage up. *phew*

 Nice weather and view!

This purple flower is call the love flower. The resort reception told us that this love flower is their resort trademark, it is planted every where in the resort. So if we lost our way, we can follow these love flower to find our way back.
Yang Guo, the watch dog.
View at another side of the resort.

Cute symbol! Haha!
Dinner time! Basically there is no other place to have our dinner unless you want to walk to other resort (which is quite far), so we had it in the resort restaurant.
Steamboat for dinner!
Dinner by the window with great view outside.
Chicken cutlet for dinner too.
So happy when its dinner time!
Sun is setting! ( I ran out while eating 1/2 way just to capture this moment! no filter pic! )
After dinner, we sit outside to chill and listen to the live band performance. You can dedicated songs and ask them to sing! ( they sing mostly mandarin song but they can sing some English oldies too ) Its kind of cold at night so prepare some warm clothes.
Nice chilly weather with live performance = enjoying life!
Families having party there too and so happen that we witness a guy propose to his girlfriend! ( and of course she say YES! )
After the live performance, we went back to our room to rest. Had my favourite cup noodle as supper to end our tiring day.
P/s: Like I mention earlier on, you can't get anything up there, so please prepare the food or snacks ( if you are having party ) before you go up there.
