Korea 2019 Day 3 & 4: Gangnam -> Cheongdam-Dong -> Dior Café -> Starfield Coax Mall -> Starfield Library -> Dongdaemum -> Lottemart -> Itaewon

 Day 3:

Good morning!
We are here at Yongsan Gamjjatang again for our brunch! (very much the reason why I always stay at the same apartment building!)

Yummmmmy!

Can you guess which train station are we at now?

Here we are at Cheongdam dong! This area is also call Gangnam district (yes, the famous Korean song Oppa Gangnam style).

This area is more on the high-end luxury area where you can find many high-end brands here.

Weather is so good today!

So, we are here at Cheongdam-dong is not because we want to buy luxury item, but guess why are we here at Dior?

Operating Hours: 11am-8pm (Monday to Saturday)
           11am-7pm (Sunday)

Not for their luxury item but for their café!
Yup, a Dior café. You can come here for their café even you are not spending at the retail store.
I went to the Hermes one a few years back which is located at Cheongdam-dong too.

The café here serves drinks and pastry only unlike Hermes one, they serve mains like pasta too.

Our coffee and pastries is here!

The branded "coffee"

Welfie with our "branded" coffee and pastry!

Drinking my Dior coffee.
Coffee is normal, pastries is not "wow" too so overall, if you were to ask me if it's nice, I would say, not worth the money.

View from the ceiling mirror.

Nice outdoor seating for instagrammable picture!

And the toilet provides Dior body lotion and perfume for guest to use!

Last welfie before we proceed to next location.

Many brands along the way if you want to get luxury items.

Louis Vuitton is just nearby and we are here to look for our Korean friend who use to work with us in Singapore.
Nice building design by Frank Gary!

Operating Hours: 11am - 8pm (Monday to Saturday)
          12pm - 8pm (Sunday)

Nice interior!

Meet up our friend, who is not in the picture, had a small chat and off to the next destination!

Sun is setting.

We head over to the Starfield Library which is located in the Starfield Coax Mall.

10.30am - 10pm (Monday to Sunday)

There is a Kakao Friends store opposite the library, so we went in to have a look first.

Operating Hours: 10.30am - 10pm (Monday to Sunday)

Next, to the library!
We of course are not here to read books! Haha! We are here to take picture with the beautiful library!

Operating Hours: 10.30am - 10pm (Monday to Sunday)

Basically, it's not easy to take a picture with empty escalator! We waited for a few rounds, and we need to snap really quick before other people step onto the escalator.

Taking photo with the books which we don't read!

Welfie again!

Went into this store because it looks like an interesting store!
Not sure on the address because I don't even know the name of this store! Haha!

Anyway, many interesting things and food can be found here! It's like a Korea version of Don Quijote (in Japan)/ Don Don Donki (in Singapore).

Short coffee break!

Shop a little in Starfield Coax Mall but nothing much interest us so we left and head to Dongdaemum.

Not our first time to the Dongdaemum Design Plaza but still feel wow with the building and lighting every time we saw. Looks like a spaceship, isn't it?

Heaven for late night shoppers!

Time for dinner before we start shopping!

Had Jjajangmyeong (black bean sauce noodle) here many years ago and I remember it's good, so I decided to bring them here to try! This place has been here for very long if I'm not wrong.

Operating Hours: (Update: They are permanently closed.)

Our food is here!

This is the Jjajangmyeong!

We ordered the Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) to share too.
Overall, the food was good, but they are super busy so don't expect good service here.

Now that we filled up our tummy and was recharged again, time to shop!
This Migliore are located just next to the Jjajangmyeong restaurant.
By the way, if you are new to Korea, Dongdaemum is a wholesales place and they open till late night, like after midnight. Some open till next day morning!
Take note on the time while shopping here because you might miss the last train and Taxi here after midnight are expensive!
Oh ya and also, because this is a wholesales place so if you are buying just 1 or 2 pieces, some shop will not be very friendly to you but of course there are good and friendly staff too!

Operating Hours: 10.30am - 2.30am (Monday to Sunday)

Bought a few tops here and we just continue to Doota Mall which is next to Migliore.
Actually, if you were to ask, will I recommend Migliore for shopping, I would say no because there are too many shops here, you will get confused and you might need a whole day to shop. It's also quite cramp due to the space inside the Migliore Mall, but Doota is so much better.
As for Doota, I'm not very sure if their items are cheaper than other place but the things here are as not cheap as compared to Migliore for sure.

Operating Hours: 10.30am - 12am (Monday to Sunday)

We only manage to shop 2 malls, and we are tired, so we decided to head back home! Gotten ourselves some bowl noodle as supper from the convenient store downstairs!

Good night!

Day 4:

Good morning!
Woke up and its brunch time!

Today brunch menu is ginseng chicken soup, located also next to our apartment! First time noticing about this ginseng chicken place after staying at this area for many times.

Address: I couldn't find it in google map, but it's located at a building next to the YongSan Gamjatang restaurant, level 2.

Here comes the food! First time I see they serve uncut chilli and cucumber as side dish!

I have never eaten before this kind of ginseng chicken soup with such thick broth! Usually, the one we ate is more clear soup but this rich and thickness of ginseng chicken is another level. The soup is honestly not bad because for me, personally I didn't like strong ginseng taste, and this soup are on the mild ginseng kind.

After brunch, it's coffee time!
This cute café, Coffee Gallery is located next to the convenient store located below our apartment.

Operating Hours: (Update: This place is permanently closed.)

A very small café but with cute interior!

The chair and table are all hand painted!

Even the serving tray are painted.

We are the only people there, so we got the whole place to take pictures!

Look how cute is the flower table!

Done with all the photo taking and time for a coffee break.

Next, we head to Lottemart! Since it's our last full day in Seoul, we just have to go grab some snacks from Lottemart to bring back to Singapore for our friends and family!

Shopping time! Lotte Mart is definitely my favorite Supermart in Seoul!

Look what they are doing?
True friends travel and do silly things together!

Look at this big pack of coffee and it's only 2000won (=SGD2.30)! I would love to bring back if I could but it's too heavy!

Ok picked the normal size of coffee for tomorrow instead of the big one.

Food tasting and yes, we are convinced because ahjuma's cooking is so good!

Damage done!
Another reason of staying at the apartment is we can carry our loot from Lottemart back to apartment by just crossing the road!

It's already nighttime and here we are at Itaewon.

We meet another Korean friend of ours who also use to work with us in Singapore and she brought us to this Korean BBQ place.

Address: Can't find the place on google map

The BBQ place is more like a fusion Korean BBQ. They also serve this cream soup dip with nacho and also you can dip your grilled meat for a different taste.

Not chilli sauce but eating with cream sauce! Interesting!

Ending with a fried rice!

Of course we have to take picture together!

Shopping around the area before the stores close.

Next, we decided walk over to Coffeesmith for some coffee and dessert!

Operating Hours: (Update: This outlet is permanently closed)

Sharing one waffle because we are quite full.

I had cream cheese coffee again!
After coffee and dessert, time to go back and start to pack our luggage!
Good night!
