Hainan, Sanya 2018 Day 1 & 2 : Ya Long Bay -> Nan Shan Si -> Jie Fang Road Pedestrian Street -> Sanya ( Huo Che Tou ) Seafood Market

Day 1 :

Time for a last holiday before the real work hectic starts! Supper cum breakfast before flight!

Free leg space seat! How lucky we are! But are we really consider lucky since we are now in charge of the emergency door...?  Whatever it is, we love these seats!

Reached Sanya Phoenix international airport after 4 hrs of flight. Everyone have to go through this Foreigner Fingerprint Self Collection machine to register our fingerprint to enter the country. Honestly speaking, it's not very well maintain. There is quite a few machines but 80% of them are not working so ended up we have to queue for that very few machines that is still working.

Collected my fingerprint ( ? ). Queue for quite sometime ( because of the limited "working" machines ) for this empty paper...

By the way, does the airport looks like a resort?

Book a DiDi ( aka grab/uber in china ) to our resort.

Here's our resort, Huayu Resort and Spa Yalong Bay.

Checked in. We are early but the allow us to have early check in.

This walk way just look like some drama scene isn't it ?

Ta da! Our room!

Our balcony and pool accessible!

From our private little pool, we can swim to the public pool.

Many shops and restaurant inside the resort! Basically it's so convenient that you can no need to step out of the resort.

Before we continue exploring the resort, lunch first!

Wide choice of dishes.

They say if you come to Hainan, you have to try Wen Chang Chicken ( 文昌鸡 ) so we did! I personally think that Singapore Hainanese Chicken taste better.

Food overall are good.

The weather is so hot that this fresh mango ice blended come in time for some rescue!

Continue to explore the resort.

Checking out the resort spa place!

Nice place but price are too high. We decided to do our massage outside.

There is tour agency in the resort as well so we went in to check out the rate for day tour.

Here's the price but we ended up didn't book any tour because we prefer to have our own time own target.

Walk over to the beach which is just opposite our resort.

The beach is cleaner that I thought!

Anyway, welfie first!

Cheers to our first day and first time to Sanya!

Time to enjoy some sea water therapy!

There is many seafood restaurant there too.

Back to our room and enjoy the pool.

Dinner time! We are too lazy to go out to find food so we decided to eat at the hotpot restaurant beside our pool, which is 1 min walk from our room. Hotpot buffet is 138rmb ( SG$27.90 ) per person which is quite cheap.

Hotpot and red wine by the pool! Romantic right? Anyway we sat there, eat and chit chat till late night. Luckily the staff never chase us away.

Day 2 :

Good morning! Breakfast time! Every corner of this resort just look like we are in the drama scene.

We booked a DiDi and off we go!

Here we are at the Nan Shan Cultural Tourist Zone for the famous tallest Nan Shan Guan Yin statue.

( goggle map is not supported in china so this is what it was stated in goggle map )
First, buy tickets and look at the crowd!

Luckily the ticket counter queue is fast.
Ticket price :
Peak Season ( 1st October to 30th April ), Adult : 129RMB ( SG$26.10), Children : 65RMB (SG$13.10 )
Non Peak Season : ( 1st May to 30th September ), Adult : 108RMB ( SG$21.90 ), Children : 54RMB ( SG$10.90 )

Let's go!

The place is bigger then we expected!

So basically you have 2 ways to travel around the whole place.
1st way, you can rent a private buggee, price stated in the photo.

2nd way is to take the tram with the rest of the tourist.

And so we choose the cheaper way, taking the tram at 30RMB ( SG$6 ) for unlimited ride for the day.

Waiting for the tram to moves, welfie time!

See that Guan Yin statue? Yes! We will be slowly walking towards there.

Monkey see monkey do... Everybody is turning the bell (?) so I did too. I guess it's a kind of blessing?

Walking through a tunnel to somewhere magical...

Once we walked out of the tunnel, this is what we sees!

Cross over the bridge above the sea and we are here under the 78m tall Guan Yin. Our DiDi driver told us that it's a common thing for the airplane to fly around the Guan Yin before landing.

Went to the counter to get some joss stick and wishing tag.

Paying respect to the Goddess before going into the temple.

Writing our wishes on the wishing tag.

Hang together with the rest and hope that the blessing will some true.

That's mine! If you can find it!

Going into the temple and was attracted by this golden door while queuing to go in.

We went straight up to the top first before slowly visiting the temple and do some praying. This is the view from the top.

Seeing many people when to hug the Guan Yin's foot so we did! In Chinese we says 临时抱佛脚 ( hugging the Buddha foot ) to describe someone who study only in the very last minute for the exams, hopping to pass. Now we don't study anymore but we still wanna hug the Buddha foot!

In the temple, there is different God statue, you can pray according to you Zodiac. We did,  but as a respect, we didn't take any picture of the God and while praying.

Walk back and look back, still thinks that the Guan Yin is magnificent!

Lunch time! Having vegetarian food because there is only vegetarian food here.

Food is not fantastic... since we have no other choice then we have to accept it....

Let's go other place to explore!

Nope, I'm still inside the Nan Shan Cultural area! This view just look like I just went to some natural park or something.

Went to another temple.

Behind the temple, there is a street too!

Walk till the end of the street, we can see the Guan Yin too.

Done with exploring the place and ready to go!

Off we go.

Shopping at Jie Fang Road Pedestrian Street ( 解放路步行街 ).

Oh? Saw a very familiar brand here...

There is a street of shops ( or is it consider as cart? ) that sells jewerly.

Nothing much so we went to the underground shopping mall and time for a tea break!

Self made bubble tea.

Heading to our dinner place but it started to rain...

Ok, I don't know what's going on, but suddenly there is a buggee stop by and ask where we want to go. The driver ask our DiDi driver to park his car at the car park and hop on the buggee and he will bring us there.

Although opposite our hotel are all the seafood restaurant but we still wanted to come to this Sanya  ( Huo Che Tou ) Seafood Market ( 三亚火車頭萬人海鲜廣场 )to have our seafood feast.

( Address cannot be found on goggle map )

So many seafood restaurant to choose, not sure which is better so we just randomly pick the one with more locals.

The restaurant will give us a shopping basket and off we go to shop for our seafood.

We pick stall 14 for our seafood because it's more crowded here. Haha! Prices are all stated there too.

Full basket of seafood including 2 free gift! Remember to ask for free gift but don't ask too much and I'm gonna tell you why later.

Back to the restaurant to cook the seafood. And here I'm gonna tell you why you should not ask for more free gift or even ask for free gift. Every seafood you ask the restaurant to cook, they charge by the weight of the seafood. So basically, the more seafood you have, they more they charge. Now we know why did the restaurant staff ask us to remember to ask for free gift from the seafood seller...
Anyway, let's see what's for dinner!

Clam soup... ( free clam )

Scallop... So good...

Clam again ( free clam again ), cook with oyster sauce and it's good!

Vegetable...

Oyster...

Prawn, cook with only garlic and it's so yummy!

Fish...

And lobster!

We are sharing the table with a family of 3 ( 2 adult and 1 kid) and ended up 6 people filled up the whole table with food! OMG! Did we ( and them small family ) like over ordered?!

We gave them some seafood to try and they give us some to try too! This manta prawn ( I think? ) fried with just salt and pepper is so good too!  Even though we ordered a lot, we still manage to finish all (  including helping to finish the family's almost whole fish ) and to be honest, the seafood is fresh and tasty!

Operating Hours : 10am to 12am ( Monday to Sunday )

So how should we end our day? Of course a good massage at Yu Zhi Xian ( 御指仙 )!

Price list.

Place looks clean.

Massage while watching TV! Life is good... Haha!

After a good massage time to go back hotel to rest. Good night!
