Cebu Day 1 & 2 : Chill, Meet the gentle Whale Shark, visit the Tumalog waterfall and Relax our days

Day 1 :

Exploring a new place this time round! We are always excited to explore a place that we have not been to! Read on to see what have we found in Cebu, Philippine!

All ready for our short getaway weekends! Cebu here we come!

Hello Cebu!

Heading off to somewhere southern part of Cebu, Santander, far away from the city!
First, we took a metered taxi to the Cebu South Bus Terminal from the taxi station at the airport, costing us about 280 perso ( = SG$8.30 ), about 20 - 30mins to reach there.

Saw this once we step into the bus terminal, so we assume the people here SHOULD NOT cheat us right??

Approach one of the staff saying that we are going to Santander and they direct us to the Ceres Liner bus lane. For Ceres liner bus, there is two type of bus, the air-conditional and non air-conditional bus. Our journey is 4 hours and of course we choose the air-conditional bus! We are lucky that when we reach the terminal, there is one Ceres Liner bus ready to start off in 5 mins time so we need not waste our time waiting at the terminal.

Oh ya by the way, you didn't see wrongly, yes the journey to Santander is 4 hours! I did mention that we are heading to somewhere far from the city right? Haha!

This is how the non air-conditional bus look like.

The bus provide free wifi on board too! Connection is not as good as what you thought but better  then nothing right? Most of the time of the long journey, I am sleeping so the wifi connection doesn't bother me. Haha!

Hey look! There is movie entertainment on the bus too! Not that bad after all, with free wifi and movie entertainment and most importantly, it's a cheaper way to reach Santander!

Bus attendance issuing our bus tickets. Something new to us as we have not seen this way of issuing tickets. This is why i love travelling cause i get to see different country's culture and different ways of doing things!

Tadaaa! This is how our bus tickets look like and the price are on it. The ticket actually cost 175 peso ( = SG$5.20 ) but not sure why the bus attendance punch 156 peso only. I guess he got a bit surprise that non local are willingly to take the bus and not car service there?

We didn't choose to book a car there because the cheapest car service I found is 3900 peso (=SG$116.50) from Cebu International Airport to our resort, which I think it's way too expensive and so we decided to go the local way.

The bus driver will pick up people along the way to sell food and drinks to passenger. Interesting! Not very sure what are they selling cause we don't understand them at all. Bought this pie when we see the locals buying in boxes so we assume it is some yummy local snack. This is what we call the blind follow the blind! Haha!

Not sure what exactly is inside but the pie taste quite good and it is still warm. It tasted like some yam pie.

Here we reach our resort, Eden resort! We thought that they will stop at the Santander Terminal and we will have to take a cab to our resort, but the bus actually stop right in front of our resort! Not sure is it meant to be like that or not but when we first board the bus, the bus attendance did ask where we are going and when the bus reach Eden resort, they just inform us that we can alight already.

Welcomed by this view and were totally fascinated by it!

The resort staff offer us a cup of welcome drink while helping us to check in.

Check in was fast and our room is BIG! Book this resort from www.agoda.com and it is less then $100 per night for 2 person and with breakfast included! Reasonable price for a nice and big room! *Thumbs up*

View outside our balcony!

Chill and relaxing at the balcony while watching the sun setting. Ready for dinner after the sun sets!

Dinner time! Had our dinner at the resort's restaurant as we were too hungry and too lazy to go outside. This is actually our first meal proper meal of the day! Haha! Food here is not that bad, slightly better then we expected. They have western and also local food to choose from.

There is daily special to choose from too.

Dinner by the pool!

Each of us had one main course and we still ordered one pizza to share! Haha! I guess we are way too hungry!

Mango ice cream for dessert! We actually sat by the pool to chill until quite late. One of the main reason is that the free wifi is only at the restaurant! Haha!

Day 2 :

Good morning! What a beautiful morning to start off our adventure journey today!

Love this view outside our balcony!

Breakfast by the pool and sea and we are ready to go somewhere exciting! That place is our main reason why we are willing to spend 4 hours of bus ride to come here!

Our transport to our destination! Looks like the tuk-tuk in Thailand. We book this tuk-tuk through the resort and the charges are 500 peso ( =SG$15 ) per room.

Off we go!

Yes! This is the place that we wanted to go so much! We are so excited that we can actually swim with the whale sharks! It is located at Oslob area which is just next to Santander.

There is two different rate, one for the local, one for foreigner and of course the foreigner have to pay more. Three different type of method for watching the whale shark, you can choose to watch on the boat, snorkeling or diving. I would choose to dive if I have a diving licence! Too bad, we don't have any so we opt for snorkeling.
Prices are including of snorkeling equipment :
Whale Shark Watching on the boat - 500 peso = SG$14.90
Whale Shark Watching, Snorkeling - 1000 peso = SG$29.80
Whale Shark Watching, Diving - 1500 peso = SG$44.70

They do provide locker to put our bags.

Our boat!

Getting more and more excited when we are away from the shore!

Before jumping into the sea, our boat actually bring us to another place where we need to attend a basic course on what we should and shouldn't do while swimming with the whale shark.

Ok! Time to get into the sea to swim with the world's largest fish!

Yes! We are going to jump into the sea to swim with these gentle giant!

Snorkeling gear up and down we go!

I have to say it is quite scary at first when the whale shark swim past me because they are really HUGE!

Taking picture with the small fishes while waiting for the whale shark to come to us again.

I pass my GoPro to one of the instructor and thanks to him if not I will not have all the awesome picture of the whale sharks!

Trying to chase after the whale shark but they really swim too fast!

This picture look like Pearlie is gonna get eaten up by the whale shark and I was trying to stop it from happening! Haha!

Having some eye contact with the whale shark! Haha!

Swimming with two whale shark together is so far my best experience I had in my many travel journeys and up they are this close to me!

After a wonderful swimming experience with the whale shark, off we go to our next destination. The tuk tuk are not able to go up the hill, so we are going to take this bike up.
But... only one bike for the two of us? Meaning that one of us have to ride the bike?!

Of course not! We ended up taking one bike together with the driver! This is also one of the new experience I never had before. 3 person riding one bike, what are the rare chances we get to do so in our life? Ok well... at least never happen in Singapore...

Seems like a lot of people are heading to the same place as us!

Our next destination is the Tumalog fall! There is three entrance fees to pay, the first one is 120 peso ( =SG$3.60 ), second is 30 peso ( =SG$0.90 ) and the third one is only if we are riding our bike in then we have to pay 60 peso ( =SG$1.80 ). We only paid the first two fees as we didn't know that we can pay for the driver to drive us in, so we ended up walking up to the fall.

Beautiful water fall!

Welfie in the water! Water is cold but great for a hot day like today!

This is what I sees when I am lying backwards under the water fall and look up! No filter needed and the place just look so beautiful!

Had a great dip in the water fall and time to go back.

Riding the bike down the hill to meet our tuk tuk driver again.

We have not had our lunch so we ask our tuk tuk driver is there any place that we can stop by for our lunch and he brought us to this Brumini Resort.

Food here is also not bad. Slightly better and cheaper then our resort. Haha!

Back to our resort and while taking picture with our tuk tuk and driver, we then know his name is Charles! Haha!

First thing we do when we reach our resort is to book a full body massage! Only 450 peso ( =SG$13.40 ) for 1 hour full body massage! What a good deal!

Back to resort for more dips! Swim in the sea, then the water fall, now the infinity pool!

My favorite past time during a beach holiday and that will definitely be sun tanning!!!

The resort have a Jacuzzi pool too. This is how we enjoy our afternoon!

It's massage time! We suppose to go to the spa room but they told us that we can do it in our room too and we decided to have our massage in our own room.

Dawn is falling and time for our dinner.

We asked the staff if there is any nice place to have dinner and they suggested to go somewhere ( don't remember the name of the place ) to have seafood but the place is a bit away from the resort and we need the tuk tuk to bring us there. We found it too troublesome so we decided to have our dinner in our own resort again.

After a long and adventure day, time to have a good sleep ( the good body massage helps a lot )!
