Day 5:
Good morning!
Breakfast before we check out our Airbnb!
Still no luck for Glacier 3000 again for today so we decided to just proceed with our initial plan.
Last glance of Gstaad!
Will be taking another panoramic train!
We are curious how the first class cabin looks like so we went over to have a peep. It's more on a vintage carriage vibe.
Second class cabin will be the standard look but with a more panoramic window.
Bye Gstaad!
Look at the panoramic window view on the train!
Ticket check. So far this is the second time we encounter control staff checking our ticket (Swiss Travel Pass in our case).
We are glad that our cabin are not full so we can fully enjoy the panoramic view from both side!
Reach Zweisimmen, our first transfer station.
This is the goldenpass train we took and this is the outer look of the first class cabin, not only the internal looks vintage, the outer look also have the vintage vibe!
Continue our journey with my pumpkin spice latte.
Reach Spiez, our second transfer station.
We have some time before the next train, so we went around to explore.
Toilet break but the blue lights inside the toilet make my head dizzy!
Cute signage!
There is a restaurant in this train!
Off we continue our journey!
Our train got delayed and when we board the train and it didn't stop at the station we wanted to alight so we decided to alight at Visp and change our route.
After a change of route, instead of taking bus at Frutigen, we will be taking bus at Kandersteg.
Thanks to the confusion of train ride and last minute change of route, we get to enjoy this view from the Kandersteg train station! The horse and horse rider definitely is the paid actor to this stunning view!
Raining again but luckily we can wait for our bus at a sheltered bus station.
Bus station location: 3718 Kandersteg, Switzerland
Taking Bus 230.
Arrive and alight at Blausee.
Bus stop location: 3717 Kandergrund, Switzerland
We will be staying inside the Blausee Nature park for the night!
The view is like a healing moment!
Getting our entrance ticket into the Blausee nature park.
We will be staying in the hotel inside the Blausee nature park so we can take back the fee back from the hotel.
Ticket into the natural park is 6CHF (=SGD$9) for each adult.
Checked in our hotel, Blausee Hotel & Spa!
This is the living room.
Website: https://www.blausee.ch
Bedroom.
Bathroom.
View from the window.
Listen to the sound of the nature!
Coffee, tea and water all can be taken from the corridor.
Ok, let me enjoy a cup of coffee first.
Dinner time!
Initially, our plan is to have lunch at the hotel restaurant and dinner at the restaurant where the bus stop is, but due to the train delay and heavy rain, we decided to just skip lunch and have early dinner at the hotel restaurant.
The menu.
Of course we are going to get the Blausee speciallites!
By the way, the trout there are from the organic trout farm own by the hotel and restaurant, you can see the trout in the Blausee lake!
I had trout ravioli.
And Wen is having the whole trout.
After dinner, we went walk around and saw them selling this candle holder! The hotel staff told us that it is made using the log from the Blausee nature park trees! It's not heavy so I think I'm going to get this tomorrow after we check out!
We then sat by the fire place to just enjoy the night before heading back to our room.
Time to say good night!
Day 6:
Coffee first!
The juice sot was recommended by the staff so we just order 1 each to try and indeed it's yummy (but sour)!
A-la-cate breakfast are included in the hotel booking!
Trout again!
And cheese!
Yogurt to end our breakfast!
I'm bringing 3 back and Wen is bringing 2 of it back! Comes with candle but we decided not to take the candle because it's heavy. (we must be crazy right? Haha!)
After breakfast, we went to stroll around the lake.
This is where our hotel room is.
Gloomy weather so can't see the beautiful colour of the lake.
It starts raining again!
The view is magnificent!
Walking round the lake to enjoy the view in different angle
The famous statue in Blausee lake.
The story of the statue and lake. Beautiful but sad story.
Look how clear the water is!
The trout we ate last night!
Spa time! The spa area is free to use for hotel guest!
What a big key ring!
Nobody else using so we have the whole spa place by ourselves!
What a cute sauna room!
Rest and relax area.
Free tea and fruits!
Shared shower area but of course female and male are separated.
There is also sauna area at the shower area
Change and ready to enjoy our jacuzzi!
Jacuzzi area.
So nice to enjoy the whole spa place and jacuzzi by ourselves.
Enjoying the view, fresh cold air and jacuzzi!
After spa, time to leave this place and finally the weather is better!
The statue is clearer with it's not raining.
The background looks like a back drop wall!
Bye Blausee lake!
Off we go!
Walking to the bus stop to take the same bus back to either back to Kandersteg station or Frutigen station.
2 train station are going 2 different way so we just take the bus that comes first, which is to Kandersteg.
Cute bus stop!
Back to Kandersteg and time to head back to Zurich.
Lötschberger I think is the name of a railway.
Look! Another rainbow came to say Hi!
Reached Bern station and we need to transfer to another train.
There is still some time till our next train and we decided to grab some bretzel because it smells so good!
So many choice but only 1 stomach!
In the end, I got the cheddar cheese one! Yummy!
Reach Zurich, back to city life!
Taking tram to our hotel.
We took the wrong tram so we ended up alighting behind the hotel.
Wrong tram, wrong stops but we pass by a unique cable car cafe!
Even with the wrong tram, it still lead us to our hotel BUT...
We need to climb a long stairs down!
Super super thankful for this gentlemen who already walked down the long stairs with his own luggage, and he decided to walk back up to help us with our 2 big and heavy luggage!
Here we are at our hotel, Aparthotel Adaigo (sharing with Ibis).
Instant noodle, snacks and drinks can be purchase at the lobby.
Checked in!
And tada! Our room for next 2 nights!
Comes with a small kitchen.
Bathroom.
After checking in our hotel, we quickly head out to the WOW museum, a illusion museum.

10am - 10pm (Friday)

9am - 8pm (Sunday)
Closed (Tuesday)

Buying our tickets.
Swiss travel pass doesn't work here so here is the price list (taken from their website).
Let's get started!
You can control the sound and lighting through your phone!
Haha! I see what you just did!
I am a dot from another dot (Singapore are known as red dot) on the world map!
By the way, you can use their Wifi and you can load all the picture you took using their camera for free.
Haha!
10/10 for the pose!
Way to get long leg?
Another cute room for photo!
Spend quite a while having fun in WOW museum! Not many people therefore lesser or no waiting time for pictures! Now time to hunt for dinner!
Pass by a crepes stall that located out of nowhere! But dinner more important so no room for dessert.
Saw this Japanese restaurant call Negishi Sushi Bar on google map and thought that it's time to crave our Asian taste bud!
Address: nagelihof 1, 8001 Zurich Switzerland
Operating Hours: 11am - 11pm (Monday to Saturday)
12pm - 10am (Sunday)
We are sitting at the bar counter so we can watch the chef.
Sushi looks legit! Taste was ok. How bad can a sushi be right?
Order 1 main each but the mains are not nice at all! It taste very weird!
It doesn't taste like Japanese food at all but maybe a kind of fusion food? Too much raw vegetable and herb taste in the soup for the ramen.
Katsu Chicken in the katsu chicken bowl is still ok but the vegetable and all others make the overall food taste weird.
I wonder how they got 4.5 stars in google map. Maybe the not authentic Japanese food disappoint us. Personally I do not recommend this place unless you only want to get sushi.
As you get older, you get more excited to visit the supermarket!
After a not so nice dinner, we head off to Coop to grab some drinks and ingredient for tomorrow.
Operating Hours: 6am - 10pm (Monday to Saturday)
Closed (Sunday)
So many kind of vitamin shots! Even more choices than New Zealand!
Quite a big Coop with everything you need.
After shopping at the supermarket, time to head back to hotel!
And we took the right tram now so we do not need to walk down the long stairs again as the correct tram will stop nearby our hotel.
Good night people!
