Bentong Malaysia 2016 : 2 Day 1 Night Durian Feast

Day 1 :

Heading to Malaysia Bentong for some durian feast during this durian season! A big group on 12 pax!

Woke up super early to avoid jams at the custom.

Before we continue our journey, breakfast time! Again we had our quick breakfast at this Restoran Queen Park.

Slept through during the car ride. Woke up and it's lunch time and the driver brought us to somewhere nearer to Bentong for lunch!

Had Malaysia Bak Kut Teh at this Restoran Yew Fu Bak Kut Teh.

Side dish comes first.

Our yummy Bak Kut Teh is here! Soup is different from the Singapore version, it's is more brownish and herb taste are stronger. After all it is still very tasty!
Journey continues after a yummy lunch!

Finally after 9 hours of car ride ( YES 9 hrs!! and YES I know we are crazy! haha! ), we reached Bentong!

Reached the durian stall that we booked 30kg of durian but to our surprise they didn't bring the durian there for us! Not sure what's the problem and where went wrong and so we ended up only get to eat 3 durian there for the whole group! They don't seems to do our business too. They didn't even offer to send the 30kg of durian since we are already there. Disappointment to the max!

No durian, but my dad is still happy with some coconut!

And I am happy with my mini durian from the stall next to this stall.

Roam around the place while the rest of them are talking with the durian stall owner. Found this plantation field just opposite the durian stall.

No durian so back to our hotel, Hotel Grand Bentong, and re arrange the durian feast! Very budget hotel I guess.

Hotel lobby. Once our group walks in, the whole lobby is full! Haha! You can imagine how small the lobby is.

This is how the budget hotel room looks like! Not as bad as I thought! Haha! Anyway it's only for a night so it's fine.

Big and clean toilet though.

The view outside our room.

Durian feast postpone to tomorrow so we asked the hotel staff where else can we go, and was recommended to visit the Chamang Waterfall.

My dad posing for me to take picture when I ask him too! Haha!

Indeed a beautiful place! Sometime we just need to get away from the concrete world right?

Many people here though! I guess there is no where else to go so everybody came here.

Finally a group photo together!

Me and my dad! Mum didn't join this time round because she hates durian! Haha!

The 'Wu' family group picture!

My dad taking picture of the waterfall. Haha! Photo bomber!

Dinner time! Pass by this Restoran S' Cuisine and decided to settle our dinner here.

Our group are too big so we have to proceed to level 2 for bigger table. There is some birthday celebrating there at level 2 too.

We had a Mothers' Day 9 course meal ( didn't manage to take a picture of one of the dish ) for RM499 ( SG$175 ) only! If we gonna eat like this kind of 9 course meal, I guess the price will be SG$499 or even more!

After a good dinner, we walk over to Bentong walk which is a weekend night market to have a look.

Looks like in the olden days where not all household had television in their house so they will watch drama together at one of the neighbor house who owns a television.

Bentong is also famous for their ginger. Not sure how fantastic is that but I hate ginger! Haha!

Shopping for ginger, ginger powder and even ginger candies.

Never get to see the real durian tree so we shall take picture with the fake durian tree!

Artist working in progress!

Wait! Is that a little kid there doing the spray art?
Yes! You can actually pay to draw a painting but of course the real artist is there to help.

Lastly, the artist will complete art piece by using fire to heat up so that the surface can last longer (?).

Anyway, walk back to our hotel after finish walking at the market.
Good night!

Day 2 :

Good morning Sunday! Morning market at the street below our hotel.
My uncle manage to find another place for our durian feast and the boss is very nice to come all the way to our hotel to lead the way to his place.
Off we go for our durian feast!

Before our durian feast, the boss bring us to one of the durian farm, name Tanah Aina to have a look. But the staff there is super super super rude and chase us away saying that we didn't inform them earlier for visiting. I think even though it's our fault for not informing in advance, the staff should speak nicely and not shouting in a very BAD manner!

Anyway, before those rude staff chase us away, we still manage to take a few picture of the durian tree!

I have been eating durian since very young but this is the first time I actually sees a durian tree!

Ok, time to leave this place! Off we continue our journey.

The boss stop by at the famous Bentong durian statue for us to take a group photo.

Stop by somewhere else to get some durian for us to bring back to Singapore. They have my favorite 'Mao Shan Wang'! They told us durian during weekend is more expensive than weekdays, not sure how true it is but it is still slightly cheaper than Singapore.

Here we are to collect our 30kg of durian!

My dad helps to carry one bag of durian to the front area where there will be someone there to help us open the durian.

This is the place where we settle down to enjoy our durian.

Staff helping us to open the durian.

We are still early for the durian season so the not all durian from the 30kg are nice! But we still manage to eat some yummy one! I prefer sweet and milky taste and some they prefer bitter and slight milky taste and the 30kg happens to have both taste!
If you are thinking that we are crazy to have 30kg of durian but actually 30kg is not a lot. The durian shells can weight quite a lot though!

My dad and I went to the small river behind to take picture while the rest continue with the durian.

The boss and his wife was heading to Bukit Tinggi for lunch and since it's lunch time so we follow them along. This place is like a small town and there is many things to see here too.

We had our lunch at Restoran Foon Lock.

This malay aunty sells very big, sweet and yummy sweet corn! 5 corn for only RM10 ( SG$3.50 ). Her stall is located in front of Restoran Leong Chee Hoong ( beside restoran Foon Lock ), first stall among the many fruits stall. Please support her if you see her!

We bought 15 sweet corn back and I am missing the corn now again.

The food served here are actually very yummy! Price is very reasonable too!

My favorite noodle dish among all dishes.

After lunch, back to JB custom. Bus lane too jam so we decided to alight and walk to the custom building.

Look at the jam for the car lane! Craziness!
Anyway, here end my 2D1N trip!
Stay tune for my up coming longer trip!
See ya!
