My Solo Taiwan Trip Day 4 & 5 : Zoo --> Wu Fen Pu --> Rao He Night Market --> Xi Men Ding --> Back Home

Day 4 :

Good morning and it's the #ootd time again before leaving the house!

Pass by a old uncle talking to a big dog which belongs to the shop in front. Sweet moment in the morning!

Breakfast time! How can I not have Ah chung rice noodle when I am in Taipei right?

Morning coffee fixed once I walk in any convenience store. Too many variety to choose from!
Anyway, off to my first destination of the day!

Yes! First destination will be the Zoo!

Must be wondering why am I going to the zoo alone?

Firstly, I have not been to the Taipei Zoo before despite me going Taipei for so many times already.
Secondly, the entrance fee is super cheap!
Thirdly, when ever I go Taipei with my friends, no one seems to be interested in visiting the zoo.

So conclusion is I shall go to the zoo alone!

Did I say the entrance fee is cheap? YES! It's only NT60 (=SG$2.60)!

To my surprise, for the amount I paid to go in, I didn't expect that the zoo to be so big and clean! It's a very nice environment for the animals and human!

I thought this picture doesn't look like I took this in a zoo! No filter at all the it's so beautiful!

Special treatment for the special monkey! So cute!

The Taiwan black bear!

Look at how he sit! Like a human and wait... why are you smelling your feet? Did you just step on your poo?

The black bear sexy pose!

Bear A fainted when he saw Bear B peeing in front of them! Haha! ( story made up by myself without the bear permission! haha! )

Oops! I got photo boomed by one of the black bear!

Beautiful waterfall with a goat standing there!

Another unfiltered picture that makes me thought that I am in a real nature!

They have Koala too! I think this is the second time I saw a Koala. ( first time was in Australia )

The sleeping Koala is sooooooooo cute! I feel like hugging them!

Look at those furry balls hanging on the tree! Oops I mean the furry Koala!

Lots of kids having their school excursion at the zoo too.

Time for the panda! Jia Jia and Kai Kai's sibling or relative?

Asia rain forest animal time.

Suntanning?

Another beautiful scenery!

Hi camel! Are you smiling to my camera?

Here comes the Giraffes!

They look so cheeky and playful by peeping at their neighbor!

They look cute siting together like this! They look like some elderly gather together at their void deck playing chess game! Haha! ( ok... here comes my creative imagination again...)

King Kong!

And here comes the king of the jungle! But he look friendly!

Home for the elephant! Seems like there is more then one area with elephant in it.

I got photo boomed again?!

Too hot or just plainly sleepy?

A beautiful garden found in the zoo!

"Did she see us?! Oh no! Let's run back to our hole quickly!"

The Puma looks like a cute gentle big cat when she is sleeping!

Penguins time! I wonder why is there a brown furry ( The first from the left ) penguin among the many penguins?

MTV Shooting venue for this penguin?

Saw the black bear at another side again.

Two bears playing happily in the pool!

They sure know how to enjoy themselves!

Done visiting the Zoo after 4 hours of walking around taking pictures!

Taking the shuttle bus back to the entrance cause I am too tired too walk back again.

I didn't regret going to the zoo! It's really a beautiful place!

Next, heading to Ah*Mei's cafe located at Heping East road for my late lunch.

A*8 cafe, owns by Taiwan famous singer Ah*Mei, Zhang Hui Mei. Very nice vintage feel in the cafe and staff looks like they are all yuan zhu ming ( native ) and were very friendly.

Address: No.8 Lane 67, Section 3, Heping East Road, Da'an District, Taipei City, Taiwan 106
Tel : +886227328220
Operating Hours : Opens daily from 12pm to 10pm but close on Monday..

Got myself pork with rice set which including soup, main and drink.

Very creative toilet located at the basement of the cafe.

The basement is also a art gallery!

So, after lunch and it's time for some shopping! Here I am at Hou Shan Pi station. Everytime whenever I am in Taipei, I will go to Wu Fen Pu to see if there is any good buy there. Shopping there is really purely by luck because sometimes I couldn't get much good buys there but sometime I manage to grab a lot!

Always pass by and grab a bag of eaglet from this uncle!

Smells so good not to miss!

Doggies around in the shops!

After a round of shopping, sad to say that I didn't manage to get much clothes this time round so I decided to go grab some dinner at Raohe Street Night Market!

First stop : Quail eggs!

Many flavor of topping to choose for the quail egg! Spoil for choice!

End up I choose the cheese powder topping! Yummy!

Second stop : Herb pork rib soup!

There is many stall selling this soup, not sure which one is better so I just go to Chen Dong to try. It's good and I manage to finish everything without a drip of soup left in the bowl.
Super full after this bowl of soup gets into my stomach!

My favorite bake cheese potato! As much as I really really feel like eating this, I couldn't eat anymore cause I am too full already!
Argh... the disadvantage of traveling alone is you couldn't order lots of food to share and you will be too full after one of two stalls of eating!

Pass by this hand made dog cookies stall and decided to buy one pack for my love one at home!

So many yummy food but so little spaces in my tummy... argh....!

I did one of this kind of art piece myself too but they are selling a ready made one!

Everytime I come to Raohe Night Market, I will visit this pet shop to buy some food for my dog and this bull dog is always there in the shop too.

Another Favorite! But I am really too full to eat anything already.

A new subway station, Song Shan station located just next to the night market! I use to walk back to Hou Shan Pi station or take a cab back to hotel but now it's so convenient already.

Back to Xi Men Ding for my last night in Taipei.

Saw a street artist doing a spray arts and selling at NT200 ( =SG$8.80 ) only!
He basically start from a white piece of paper or canvas ( can't see from where I am standing )...

Then, he slowly start to spray different colour onto in...

Then, he burn the surface...

Ta da! The art piece is complete! It's a Eiffel tower! So much details in this piece of art using so little time to complete! A true blue artist!

It's late night and Xi Men Ding is still crowded. I guess the night is still young at Xi Men Ding everyday?

This restaurant is famous for their golden retriever who is always in there to look after the restaurant and of course take picture with the humans who went there to eat.

Mr artist is wrapping up and ready to go home.

His Taipei 101. Nice!

Back to the apartment, shower and time to do some packing! This picture wraps up all my purchase in Taiwan in this 4 days! This is crazy! Haha!

Food for my doggy every country I go.

Day 5 :

Last day of my solo Taiwan trip already! The weather turn warmer today so no jacket needed anymore! My flight back is in the evening so I still have some time to roam about!

First, I get my coffee fixed at Fong Da Coffee. I pass by them everyday and the coffee smell so nice so I decided to try before I go back to Singapore!
At level 1, they are selling their coffee powder at the entrance area and drinking area will be further in and also at level 2.

I got myself a table at level 2 and ordered a cup of Blue mountain coffee and a piece of cheese cake for breakfast.

The coffee is really nice but maybe not matching it with cheese cake... Haha!

Took a train to Taipei Main Station for this Guang Nan Wholesale again.

Many... many... many things to see... and buy!

Ok! Back to Xi Min Ding again! Last meal and shop at this famous area!

Two sleepy dog ( the dog in my previous night picture ) at the restaurant! They work till quite late yesterday night too...

Lunch time! Gonna try this famous Japanese Ramen place, Ramen Nagi, located at the 6th floor of a cinema next to Uniqlo! Googled and apparently a lot of people recommend it!

My "custom made" ramen.

Here comes my yummy ramen!

SLURP! Really very yummmmmmmmmmmmmmy! No joke!
I will be back to try other flavor too! I will definitely recommend everyone to try their ramen too!

A cup of bubble tea after a bowl of yummy ramen!
This is the original 'KOI' bubble tea but used a different name in Taiwan!

Back to the apartment to redeem my luggage and ready to go!
Oh ya I didn't realise that there is a vintage store at the basement of my apartment building until the last day... No more time to shop anymore!

Took a cab to the Taipei West Bus Station Terminal to take a bus to airport!
Taking cab to airport is expensive and not worth it because I'm alone, taking train need to walk a lot and I'm carrying two luggage, so taking bus is the best option! I don't need to carry the luggage everywhere, no walking and most importantly it's cheap!

Guo Guang bus ( counter 1 ) from Taipei city to Taoyuan International Airport take about 1 hour and bus ticket cost NT120 (= SG$5.20)

Long queue again.....

I'm very sure my luggage is going to be overweight!

Total weight for my two luggage is 36.1kg!!! Omg... What did I buy??? Haha! I only purchase 30KG back, so I decided to hand carry my small luggage up but Jetstar is VERY strict to their hand carry luggage! They even have to weight my handbag so that my luggage and handbag weight add up will not be over 10kg! I'm not sure is it a new rules from Jetstars or across all airline, but I have never been ask to weight my small handbag as part of the hand carry baggage weight before, no matter which airline!
So I got no choice but to try to squeeze more things from my hand carry luggage to my bigger luggage until there is no more space to squeeze in. My handbag is a bit heavy due to my iPad and camera and other things so I can only have very limited weight for my hand carry luggage! The ground staff ended up giving me a small cartoon box to put some of my things in because I really have no more space in my big luggage to squeeze and the hand carry is still over 10kg!
SO TROUBLESOME ( but I'm not the only one with such problem there... )!
I will try not to take +Jetstar Asia Airways  in future to avoid such problem!

Well... Seriously... people please be more considerate!

Anyway... Bye Taiwan! I'll be back soon!
