Bangkok 2022 Day 3 & 4: Pratunam Market -> Siam Square -> Mi Toast House -> Cassette Coffee Bar -> Central Festival East Ville -> Big C -> After You Dessert Cafe -> Four Faced Buddha (Erawan Shrine) -> Gaysorn Village

 Day 3:

Good morning!
Our morning starts off with a trip to Starbucks!

Look at all these cute cups! Their staff have some talent here!

I'm having Yuzu cold brew which is not available in Singapore!
And this have to be my permanent 'to go' coffee from Starbucks if ever we have this in Singapore! So good and refreshing!

Coffee for Kae and Oli... (in Starbucks's staff voice)

Saw this big Thai pandan pancake and decided to get one as breakfast!

A real big one! Taste wise not too bad and I love how crispy is the outer part and chewy at the middle part.

Today we will be spending our morning shopping at Pratunam Market.

Operating Hours: 5am - 9pm (Monday to Sunday)

Let's start shopping!

This place is like a wholesale market and price are cheaper if you buy in bulk. Be prepared of the narrow walkway and super crowded human traffic.
And one thing that is also very famous here is the PICKPOCKETS, so be very mindful of your surrounding!

Kat need the help of money change already. Haha!

The rate is slightly better than in Singapore.

Off to the next destination by Tuk Tuk!

When there is a jam, Tuk Tuk is the best choice even though it's not the cheapest choice.

Here we are at the Siam Square area! A hippier area in Bangkok.

Cafe hop time!
Came here for this Korean toast cafe! Didn't get to try Mi Toast House in Korea so since there is one in Bangkok, we decided to try it here!

Operating Hours: 10am - 10.30pm (Monday to Sunday)

Order our food before we get to step into the siting area.

Although it's a Korean cafe but the interior looks very Japanese style.

This is the famous steam toast!

Picture with the toast wall while waiting for our toast to be ready!

Some merch that people can get here.

Our window seats.

My loot from Pratunam and whole bag of clothes cost about SG$31

Our drinks are here!

Look how the drink changes colour!

And our ham and corn steam toast are here!

Not bad, warm and soft toast.

And sweet potato fries. This is yummy!

We decided to order another drink just because the bottle looks cute! Haha!

It's shopping time again!
Went to Siam square one for this Eveandboy, which is similar to Sephora.

Operating Hours : Unknown.

Cute store outside Siam Square one, selling swim wear and beach wear.

There are also many shops outside the mall.

After shopping awhile, time for a coffee break!
The outlook of this Cassette coffee Bar attracted our attention, so we decided to give it a try.

Operating Hours: 10am - 8pm (Monday to Sunday)

A very pink and futuristic vibe interior! And to our surprise it's empty!

The choice of coffee, tea and desserts.

I had orange latte.
To be honest, if you are here for a very Instagramable cafe, it's fine, but if you are here for coffee, then it might not be a place for you. The coffee is normal, just your average coffee. My orange latte had no taste of orange. Haha.

After coffee break, we decided to take a taxi and head to Central Festival East Ville, which is located a little further to where we are, as we saw that the bag from Gentlewoman that we wanted had stocks over there, where else all other outlet that we went these few days are all sold out.

Operating Hours: 10.30am - 10pm (Monday to Friday)
                            10am - 10pm (Saturday & Sunday)

Frist time to this mall and some of the international brand can be found in this mall.

Our main purpose here!

Many choices here unlike those bigger outlets but I guess nobody want to shop here due to its location.

They even have Japanese pharmacy here!

So cute! I guess this place is pet friendly as long as they are in the carrier and stroller.

For those who is coming, do take note that many taxi driver didn't want to use meter even the mall security ask them to on the meter because it is a bit out of the way from the city, but we still manage to find a honest driver!

Sun is setting soon!

Back to our Airbnb to put back all our loot and we head off to Platinum mall again to grab some thing.

We didn't have any idea what for dinner, so we decided to grab our dinner at the food market outside Platinum mall. Not sure if this permanent or just a food fair because this food market isn't here since the day we arrived.

First time having this. I don't even know what it is call but it is tomyum mama (Thai famous instant noodle) stir fry with some seafood. Not bad.

We also tried this sweet and spicy (similar to our sambal?) seafood, not sure what's the name of this dish too but not too bad too.

They also provide gloves for us to eat the seafood easily.

Ok let's get to the real business! Time to grab some snacks from Big C to bring back home!

Saw this and wonder how's the taste is like.

Mine on the left and Kat's loot on the right!

Walking back to our Airbnb and stop by the stalls outside Platinum mall.

Kat and her Kit Kat pouch.

Wanted to try the famous After You Dessert but too bad its closed.

Put our loot back in our Airbnb and off we head off to Foot Haven for last massage because it's our last night in Bangkok already.
We decided to do a 2hr massage tonight.

Massaging the hand that carry many bags today!

And the poor feet that walk so much every day!

Pomelo again tonight. Got from Big C and it's so juicy.

Here's my loot for this trip!
And time to pack all into the luggage!

Day 4:

Good morning!
Having breakfast at After You Dessert since we didn't get to try yesterday.

Operating Hours: 10am - 9pm (Monday to Sunday)

Surprisingly it's quite empty because the outlet at Siam Center is always full and with super long queue. By the way the service staff here are quite bad. Their English is not good so when we can't understand them, they got frustrated and sound very impatient.

Anway, here's the menu.

And the drinks menu.

Got myself another Yuzu coffee but the one at Starbucks is better.

Got ourselves a thick toast.

And Thai milk tea bingsu.
The dessert here are not bad but honestly, I will not queue for it.

Saw 2 ladies buying so many buns! We overhead them saying they are heading off to the airport after collecting all the bun that they pre ordered yesterday.

Last mooping before leaving Bangkok.

Took Tuk Tuk to somewhere nearby and the driver's son follow us too.

Last few hours in Bangkok so we went to the famous Four Face Buddha to pay a respect.

Operating Hours: 6am - 10pm (Monday to Sunday)

You can get joss stick here and pay simple respect to the god like I did.

But also, you can pay for the Erawan Shrine Dance, A.K.A the blessing dance like Kat did.

Here is the rate depending on how many dancers you want.

Hold on to the receipt and show the person when it's your turn.

Kat queuing up for her turn.

The Erawan Shrine dancer starts dancing behind Kat while she does her praying.

After praying, we cross over to the Gaysorn Village to meet our Singaporean friend who is currently working in Bangkok.

Operating Hours: 10am - 9pm (Monday to Sunday)

Lunch at Provence.
They serve Thai boat noodle and some traditional Chiangmai food.

Operating Hours: 10.30am - 5.30pm (Monday to Sunday)

Our food is here!
If I'm not wrong this is the Northern curry noodle.

Northern curry noodle with chicken.
The fried noodle is interesting!

And this is the Boat noodle.

The staff was pushing this dessert cart around for people who might be interested in having some dessert. So cool!

We had some of course.

And this is like tapioca with coconut milk.
Overall, the food here is nice but definitely price is higher compared to the restaurant outside.

Walk back to Platinum Mall to grab this bag for one of my friends who saw me posting mine yesterday.

Last but not least, after seeing the 2 ladies earlier on buying so many of the After You bun back home, we decided to also grab some too!

Ya we only got 1 each, not like the ladies! Haha!

Off we go to the airport now!

Took a grab there and same as if you take a taxi, you need to pay some toll fee which is 25 baht (=SG$0.95). I usually will advise to take grab to airport because there are too many dishonest taxi drivers if they know that you are going to airport, and you will not have time to argue with them if anything happen because you need to catch a flight. Too many such cases so at least grab price is fixed as shown in the app, and if there is anything that happens, you can still contact through the platform.

Reality struck when we reach airport! Holiday ending...

Us smiling for the camera (yes, we are smiling behind the mask) but crying in our heart as the holiday ends! Haha!

Not too bad! We come with 1 luggage and back with 1 too.
Now cross finger for our luggage not to be overweight!

Only 1.5kg over the weight limit for my luggage and 2.6kg over for Kat and thank God the staff let us pass!

Shopping AGAIN! Haha!

I love these Tomyum biscuit sticks and so far, I can only find in at the airport.
And one last mango sticky rice before saying goodbye to Bangkok!

And Kat also found her Banana Stick, also can be found only at the airport.

Time to look for dinner!

Hand carrying our After You because we don't think it will survive if we put in the check in luggage.

Take away our Mcdonalds and eat it at the gate, thinking that we might be late for boarding but of course, if there is no flight delay, it's not Suvarnabhumi Airport, right?

Bye Bangkok! See you again!

Back to the airport we are familiar!
Oh ya, since boarders open after covid, all people arriving in Singapore, including Singaporean have to fill in the SG Arrival Card before clearing immigration. Many Singaporeans were rejected at the e-gate because they do not believe it's a must to fill up for the locals and they have to re-queue again once they finish filling up!

or you can download the app here if you travel a lot: ICA | MyICA Mobile Application

It survived!

Bye for now!
Not sure when or where I will be traveling to next, so stay tune!
