Day 1
The ground staff is there is ask us to try out the self check in machines. So we tried and printed our air tickets and check in luggage label. Its quite easy to use and we receive a free gift ( recycle bag from SQ ) for trying out the machines! Haha!
While waiting for boarding, we saw how rude one of the ground staff was to a foreigner! Super duper rude even though that foreigner is so polite with her limited English! I think this shouldn't be the quality of service I will see from Singapore Airline whom always being awarded as best airline service. I think foreigner choose SIA is because they really think SIA provide good service but looking at how the ground staff talks to her, if I'm her I'm sure I will regret choosing SIA. Didn't get to get that staff name but from his accents, he is a non local.
As per requested by hazel to try out the SQ special order meal and when the food is here, we straight away regretted. Haha! Not to my liking so I shall stick to the normal meal in my future SQ flight.
Landed and first thing to grab is the local phone card! 299baht for the whole of our 4 days trip which can actually last for 7 days.
Took a airport railway to station and we walk to our hotel, hotel vista express which is located right above pratunam wholesales market.
Oh Ya! That's my new luggage that Asiana Airline pay me back! Same design but better then nothing right? So this is the first trip for my new luggage!
Reached Hotel Vista Express! It's only 10 + in the morning and they told us that check in time is 2pm so we decided to leave our luggage at the hotel and head down to have our lunch.
Here we are at the famous wantan mee store and surprisingly there is no queue but seats was almost full inside. The queue started again when we start to order our food! Lucky us!
We order 4 small wantan mee, 60baht (SGD$2.40) each and the one pig trotter, 250baht (SGD$10) to share.
After our meal, there is still plenty of time till check in so we decided to shop a bit at the pratunam wholesale market first and so that we can put back our loots back to hotel after we check in.
Back to the hotel at 1.45 and the staff told us the check in time is still 2pm and we can't check in yet although it's only 15 mins early. The reception ask us to wait for another 30min and since she insisted that 2pm is the check in time so we told her that we will only give them 15 mins to prepare . I am not a nasty customer but since they are so not flexible, I shall not treat them good.
We requested two room that is next to each other and we ended up with two room that is a few rooms apart. We also wanted to borrow the international adapter but the staff say they don't have any to lend us. Lucky I did bring one with me so my friends from the other room have to bring their mobile phone over to charge everyday.
Ok, things that might spoil the holiday mood aside... We are heading off for some tea session! Oh wait! Crepe first!
Wanted to order the Thai milk tea crepe cake but sold out already so we ended up choosing the milo one. It's yummy and not too sweet!
This is what happen when the food looks good and how we make our friends envy about us! Haha! Instagram-ed the very next moment!
After high tea we went to Siam paragon to walk and digest a bit before we head off to the next destination.
Here we are at the weekend train station market, Taladrotfai market. This market is HUGH with A LOT of shops, stalls and restaurant! Lots of good buy from here too! I manage to grab two denim shorts for 40 baht (SGD$1.60) each! The market only opens from Friday to sun and therefore it will be super crowded too!
Pass by this leather shop and saw them selling leather watch strap at a very cheap price! 100 baht (SGD$4) for a watch strap! Since my watch strap is already spoiled, I ended up buying one and ask the person to change it for me.
Spot the cat game!
Many vintage stalls here selling second hand things too.
Last but not least, our aim for this trip is to end everyday with a massage! So here we are!
Day 2 :
It's walk able distance but it's too hot to walk so we took a tuk tuk there instead. 40baht (SGD$1.60) for 4 person to reach there is worth it!
It's Kat's first time riding tuk tuk although she comes BKK quite often.
We bought too much that we need to pack in a carton box. The provide free carton box for us to pack but we need to buy our own scotch tape at 24baht (SGD$0.95) each. I left my scotch tape beside Hazel while she is packind and it got stolen while I was away to do the tax refund! Omg! The people just take without asking! Anyway we are entitle for tax refund for purchase above 2000baht and the refund is around 5%. The customer service at big c is quite bad. They could not speak English and when people ask them things they do not understand and of couse couldn't answer them. When I'm waiting for my tax refund form, they actually swoop mine with another customers receipt! So they ask both of us to refill the tax refund form again... I have learn my lesson and I will not ask for the tax refund next time.
This is the tax refund form which look like some consignment form! The most lehjek tax refund form I've seen!
After our loot we took a cab back. Look how much we bought! Actually wanting to go a bit further for lunch but they are closing soon for their break so we thought of eating somewhere near.
When we are in the room we saw this letter that they put in our room saying that there is free buffet party today to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the hotel and so we went for the free lunch! Haha! Well, the food is all in Philippine style and we realize that the boss of the hotel is also from Philippine. Food is not really to our liking but since it's free... We can't complain much....
After our free lunch, we head off to the platinum fashion mall! This is the place where we spend 5 hours here and almost went broke!
After the crazy shopping, back to hotel to put our loots and again out for dinner!
Went to Chinatown to eat seafood! We had our dinner at nam sing. They serve quite good food and shark fin soup. This is my third time eating at this outlet.
After dinner we went opposite to get some snacks from the famous Lin Zhen Xiang. They sell nice pork floss and others.
After a short shopping, time for dessert! How can we come Chinatown without eating bird nest right? I have not try this place before but Katharine said that she try before and it's not bad so we decided to try here. My choice of bird nest, the red blood bird nest at 300baht (SGD$12) but if you want a bigger bowl you can order the bigger one at 500baht (SGD$20).
After a good dinner we went to the palladium world shopping where there is night market outside the mall. There is MANY stalls there for us to shop! We ended up only shops few stalls cause we spend too much time in each stall... And by the time we realise many stalls are starting to close, we then know it's already 12am and its started drizzling! I guess we have to come back tomorrow for more shopping...
We took tuk tuk back to hotel at 50baht (SGD$2) and thinking that we shall bath and go downstairs to do some massage but by the time we finish bathing it's already 1am and they are already close! So sad that today we didn't do any massage!
Day 3 :
Hazel and JP went to shop at patunam at 5am! Ok that's too crazy for me and Kat so we stayed in the hotel to enjoy our beauty sleep! Haha!
Crepe breakfast for just me and Kat! All by ourselves as the other two is not done with their shopping and not sure where they are now.
So kat and I went back to platinum mall to shop on a few specify shop again.
She wanted get more of her denim shorts from this shop. Friendly sales person ( not the one in this picture ) and reasonable price for denim shorts!
After one shop, we went to black canyon at basement to get our caffeine fixed while waiting for the other two who they say they are on their way to meet us.
They went back to hotel to put back their loots from the early morning but hazel still manage to bring a full bag of eyeliner to meet us! Can you imagine even just crossing the bridge she manage to grab a FULL bag of eyeliner?!
Ok! full strength now so the shopping continue! We went back to the personalize shop to do more gift for our friends! Our orders are so many that they ask us to go back during late afternoon to collect it! Big buyer ya? Haha!
Since we got a lot of time before we can collect our things, we went a bit further to have our lunch. Kat did a research on this Japanese restaurant and the review was very good so we decided to have a try.
Address : 5 Sukhumvit 31, Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand
Operating hours : 11am to 2.30pm, 5.30pm to 10pm
Wanted to take cab to central world but a lot of driver told us to take the subway instead cause of the jam at that timing. So we took the train instead.
So long never see this machine already! We used to use the same machines in Singapore too!
Pass by the Four Face Buddha and saw the crowd is not as many as always because of the bombing that happen 2 months ago but glad that it's over for now.
Walk over to central world and before we could start shopping, we need some dessert to fight the hot weather!
Look at our cute ice cream! Even by looking at it makes us happy. Anyway beside it's look, the gelato is actually quite nice too.
Dinner at Sansab @ siam paragon, 4th floor.
I bought one clock at 100 Baht (SGD$4) from this lady and totally love it! ( it's a picture of camera )

Saw this magnet selling in one of the shop and I totally can relate it! I am totally (self declare) born to travel! Haha!
