Day 3:
Good morning! Had our breakfast and off we go!
Today we are heading to somewhere where it become popular because of Running Man (Korea variety show).
Booked a grab to Timang Beach and it cost about RP291000 (= SGD$29.50). It is a 2.5hr car ride so don't be surprised if driver cancel your trip as to them, they feel like a wasted trip there if they couldn't pick anyone back to city area. We got cancelled once and luckily this driver is willingly to pick us.
Off we go!
We almost reach but not yet!
There is still a distance up which car cannot reach, so we have to change to a jeep ride which will bring us there. There is jeep driver waiting there so our grab driver helped us to communicate with one of to bring us up.
The jeep ride is about 20 mins but its super-duper bumpy ride! And the cost of the jeep is RP350000 (= SGD$35.50) per car. We actually ask our grab driver if he can wait for us so we can take his car to another place later and also back to city and he agreed. He ended up he accompany us to the Gondola area and waited for us there.
Finally, here we are at the Timang Beach!
Our grab driver who turns into our "tour guide" ask us to take a picture here so we just follow! Haha!
So, this is what we are here for! For those we watch the OG running man, you might know this place!
Went to the ticket counter to get our Gondola tickets at RP2000000 (=SGD$20.30) each.
They stamped on our hand too and I guess in case the tickets got wet, and we still have proof that we paid for the ride?
And the whole purpose of coming here to ride on the Gondola!
And yes, this is the Gondola! A very traditional and hand pulled Gondola! Look at the waves below the Gondola! This is also the waves that can hit straight up and hit KwangSoo (from running man) when he is riding it!
We are ready to go! If you are wondering if there is any safety belt or what? And the answer is nope! Haha!
Look at Pearlie's hair and you will know how strong the wind is!
And off we go!
We reached the Timang Beach!
This little island is famous for lobster so that's the reason why they ask (when we book our jeep ride) if we want to get lobster for lunch which cost about RP650000 (=SGD$66). We didn't get the lunch set but kind of regret now!
There will be the local station there to see if you need any help and they are very good in taking pictures too! We met one guy, and he just bring us around to take nice pictures! I saw online saying that they will charge visitor for helping to take pictures, but they didn't ask us for any payment so I'm not very sure whether do they actually charge.
They sure know where the best spot is to take nice picture!
He even found this cute spot!
Saw the wave?
See what I mean, they are station here to lend you a hand when you need help. They are not just there to help you take nice pictures but also first aid if needed. Pearlie got cut by a sharp rock and was bleeding so this guy (sorry I can't remember his name) immediately help her with the wound.
Ready to go back.
Waiting for our Gondola.
Oh ya, in case you don't dare to take the Gondola, there is another option to come over to this little island, which is the suspension bridge! Will this less scary? haha! I doubt so... This will cost RP100000 (=SGD$10).
We didn't pay for the suspension bridge so we can only take picture with the bridge.
There is this little stair for you to take picture as well and it cost RP10000 (=SGD$1) only!
Done with the Gondola, head back down with the jeep and we are heading to a nearby beach by our grab to chill and maybe get lunch.
And basically, you need to pay to enter the beaches there at RP9500 (=SGD$0.95) each person. Not sure the reason but I guess is to maintain the beach clean.
We went to the Indrayanti Beach thinking to chill here, but it was so crowded.
Address: Ngasem, Sidoharjo, Tepus, Gunung Kidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta 55881, Indonesia
We couldn't find a good spot at the beach, so we decided to go to the Taman Kopi Ori, a cafe/restaurant there.
Operating Hours: UPDATE (it's permanently closed)
Nobody in the cafe.
We decided to sit (on the floor) at the highest point of the cafe to have a better view.
The view from the top!
We wanted to order food but too late for lunch and too early for dinner, so we ended up just eating fries.
Back to the beach but nothing fantastic about this beach and not worth paying to come in, so off we go.
Sun is setting too!
Today we didn't go to JL Malioboro but instead we just stay around our hotel area, which is shopping at Pakuwon mall.
We went shopping around and ended up at De Wave Spa massage& Reflexology for foot massage!
Operating Hours: 10am - 10pm (Monday to Sunday)
The price list.
I have to say the price here is so cheap! 60mins of foot reflexology for RP75000 (=SGD$7.60) only?!
So good! I think we gonna come at least 1 more time before we go back to Singapore!
Dinner time! Do not know what to eat so when we pass by this Japanese restaurant, we thought why not eat something not local today.
Operating Hours: 10am - 10pm (Monday to Sunday)
Food overall was ok, not fantastic kind but good enough if you are craving for non-local food.
Drop by the supermarket to grab some water and see what else can we get here.
Operating Hours: 10am - 10pm (Monday to Sunday)
Feels home seeing Singapore brand in other country. Haha!
Anyway, we have to wake up super early tomorrow so we gonna go back to sleep now!
Good night!
Day 4:
Good morning! *Yawn*
It's 3.30am and we are already on our way to somewhere to watch the sun rise!
By the way before I reveal where I'm going, do you know here you can book grab by how many you want! We booked a 12hr driver to drive us around and it cost only RP600000 (=SGD$61)!
And so, after 1hr car ride, here we are at Borobudur Temple!
For more information of the Borobudur Park, please visit their website.
Operating hours: 6.30am - 4.30pm (Monday to Sunday)
Website: https://borobudurpark.com/en/home-2/
We gotten our ticket at the ticket counter when we reach.
The Borobudur Sunrise ticket cost RP475000 (=SDG$48) and the cost of the ticket are actually higher between 4am to 6am because that's the sunrise timing and after 6am, the tickets will be cheaper.
The sunrise here is famous for its beauty so of course we choose to pay more to watch the sunrise!
After getting the ticket, they will give you a sticker and a torchlight (because it is really dark outside now)
Now you know why we need torchlight. It's almost completely dark at the park with minimum lighting.
For a better view of the sunrise, we need to walk all the way up to the top of the temple!
The best photo I can capture right now with the night mode of my Gopro and some lights from the other people's torchlight.
The moon is still up and bright and here we are waiting for the sun to rise.
Still very dark now.
So basically, this morning is very cloudy so most likely we will not get a very beautiful sunrise but it's ok!
By the way, until the sky is slightly brighter, then we realize there is really a lot of people around us watching the same sunrise!
The sky is bright, and the sun is still hiding behind the cloud! Haha but this place is beautiful even without sunrise!
Borobudur Temple is actually one of the world largest Buddhist temples that is built between AD780 and 840.
Walking around to take some pictures!
Finding an empty spot for photo taking is not easy!
By the way, to be respectful to the temple, we all wear long pants, so it is advisable to wear long pants or skirt if you are going. But if you forgot, if I'm not wrong, there is sarong to borrow too (you can check at the ticket counter again).
Looks like the cloud has clear up a little and we finally see the blue sky!
And the sun is out from hiding behind the cloud!
While walking around taking the breathtaking view, one of the guards told me there is a spot where I can take very nice picture, and he volunteer to help me take the picture and I have to agree with him! At this spot you can take the full view of the temple by using the panorama function!
Look at these stone carving!
The place looks even more magnificent in the daylight!
Finally get to see the look of the park.
Back here!
Upon returning the torchlight, everyone is gifted with a bandana as a souvenir!
Breakfast is included in the ticket so we can enjoy the breakfast buffet before we head off to another place!
After another hour of car ride, here we are at Ayunan Langit Watu jaran, which translate to swing (Ayunan) and sky (Langit)!
Entrance ticket is at RP7000 (=SGD$0.70). And yes, you did not see wrongly, it is really RP7000!
Parking of car will be RP5000 (=SGD$0.50)
From the picture you might not notice but we are actually standing at a very high level!
So, I guess this is the sky swing that this place is all about. Unfortunately (or shall I say fortunately?) this swing is not on operation today! Haha!
Anyway, it will be RP20000 (=SG$2) for taking the sky swing.
Can you feel the height?
Walking to our next activity.
The price for different activities.
This sky way is close too.
And we went to the next activity, Wisata Alam Kalibiru, which basically is standing at this tree top platform for a beautiful view!
And yes, you need to climb up by the wooden log stairs.
This activity is RP20000 (=SGD$2)
Normally we are not someone who will purchase all the "professional" photo that was taken by the place, but for this we have no choice because nobody could help us that picture there.
Anyway, if you do not want to spend the money, they still come with 1 free photo that was included in the activity.
The photo taking service cost RP15000 (=SGD$1.50) each.
It's really high if you look down but not to worry, there is a safety belt to hold on to you (which you are not allowed to remove if you want to go up there).
Collecting our "'professional" photo which will send to our phone.
The photos that we paid for!
We are not planning to do all the activity, so we just pick a few to do.
Where shall we go next?
Next, Pearlie went for the Spot Sepeda.
This cost RP30000 (=SGD$), and it includes for photos.
This activity is to ride on the bicycle and cycle on the wire. It does look scary, but it seems safe enough.
Anyway, the wire is not long, so you just ride, stop somewhere, take picture and continue ride to the other end and you are done!
And this time round I'm able to help her to take more pictures.
And for me, I went to the Spot Kano/Gantole. It cost also at RP30000 (=SGD$3) and also comes with 4 photos.
Same, it might look scary, but it is actually not. I feel quite secure and safe out there.
They will turn in different angle for you to take picture which is quite thoughtful!
We are happy with our photos and other activity seems not as fun, so we decided to leave the place.
We are too lazy to walk so we decided to take the bike back to the entrance! I can't remember if we did pay for the ride.
Anyway, got onto our car again and an hour plus back to Yogyakarta town!
We are so hungry and ask the driver to drop us at Roaster and Bear for our lunch.
A nice and hip cafe we found in this city!
Operating Hours: 11am - 10pm (Monday to Friday)
10am - 10pm (Saturday to Sunday)
First, coffee first!
Food was actually not bad!
Our car and driver rental are up so we decided to head back to our hotel to rest since we woke up really early today.
We change up and chill (and fall asleep) at the pool.
Sun sets, time to wash up and head for dinner.
Too tired to go anywhere so we went to the mall next to the hotel again.
We are not very hungry yet, so we decided to go De Wave for our last massage!
So happy I got this masseur again! She is so good!
After a great massage, we went to buy take away food as most of the restaurant is closing soon so they don't allow dine in anymore. We are actually fine since our hotel is just next door.
Got myself a Starbucks coffee too and it is way much cheaper than Singapore!
Dinner time!
Food taste so so only. Not worth trying.
Anyway, time to pack our luggage and good night!
Day 5:
Good morning! Last breakfast in the hotel.
Took grab and again need to walk a distant to the airport.

Reach the airport and time to bid goodbye to Yogyakarta!
This place is really good for a relax trip! I would recommend Yogyakarta if you wanted to be away from the busy cities!
Bye and see you in my next trip!
