Korea 2016 Day 5 & 6 : Myeongdong -> Lotte duty free @ Myeongdong -> Lotte mart -> Gangchon Rail Park -> Ewha Women's University

Day 5 :

Good morning! Guess where we are again? Yup! Myeongdong! Myeongdong are kinda different during the day and the night so of course we need to come in the morning too!

Shopping aside first, breakfast more important! Happen to see this porridge place and Katherine wanna try abalone porridge. Not sure is it nice but since it's the only porridge restaurant we happen to pass by, we shall give a try.

Quite a range of porridge to choose from!

But the only down side of this restaurant is that we are kinda force to order one bowl of porridge each. If we are allow to share at least we wouldn't be too full and can continue to eat more later. Weird rules but I guess it's their way to earn money, so no choice but to order 3 bowl of different porridge.

Kimchi with octopus porridge at 8000won ( SG$9.80 ) for me.

Special abalone ( double amount of abalone ) porridge at 15000won ( SG$18.40 ) for Katherine.

Lastly, vegetables porridge at 7000won ( SG$8.60 ) for Jingpei.
Porridge taste was not bad but ofcourse can't compare to the abalone porridge I had before in Jeju island.

Always have space for dessert! See a lot of people queuing so we join in too! ( Typical Singaporean )

Look at our beautiful gelato! And most importantly it's nice!

Ok one selfie before I finish everything up!

So crowded as usual!

Look at the cute donkey selling their facial product!

Continue our shopping...

Baked cheese attracted us over to have a try!

It's actually pan fried takkpoki and in between there is cheese and lastly dip in condense milk.

This is the famous lobster stall that most food blogger introduce but we didn't try because of the long queue.

Next to my favorite duty free store, the Lotte Duty Free, which most of the people hate to come because of the crowd!

 Operating Hours : 8am - 9pm

The queue for Sulwhasoo was crazy! Luckily I'm not the brand user.

Done with my purchase! Visa card holder can actually get 5-10% ( depending of what type of card you holding ) off your purchase! This is why I like to shop here!

Went back to apartment to put our loot and meet our ex colleague, Eric who is a Korean for dinner! Where for dinner? Not other place but the gamjatang restaurant below our apartment! Told you that we are going to eat as many time as possible before we go back to Singapore!

Yummy!

After a yummy dinner, proceed to the cafe next door to chill before going back!

Oh wait! Did I say going back just now? End up we walk over to the Lotte mart which is just opposite the apartment! We tell ourselves we shall go and check the items out so that the last night before leaving, we will know what to buy.

It's late already and the Lotte mart is closing soon but yet there is still so many people shopping here.

Wait wait wait! We suppose to check the things out only don't we? How come we ended buying so many things? Omg! Haha!

Lotte mart doesn't not provide paper bags so it's either you buy from them or you think of other ( free ) way! We actually bundle up our 7 packs of seaweed together using just scotch tapes! This make carrying such big yet light weight item easier!

There is free carton box to use so this is other way to carry your things back.

Day 6 :

The day start off with a cold brew latte from Angel in us coffee! And ever since, I got addicted to this cold brew latte!

We went through a long train journey to our destination! Anyway Jingpei is not going to kidnap the little girl but the other way round! Haha! This random cute little who is waiting for train next to us starts to hold her hand and start bringing her around! Haha!

So this is how we reach, we took train from Seoul station, we took to Yong Shan station, transfer to the Gyeongui-Jungang ( light green ) line to Sang bong and change to the ITX from there to Gimyujeong station.

After 2 hours of transferring and traveling, finally we are at the Gimyujeong station! A very unique station building that I have never seen before!

The Rail Park entrance is just right on the right side of the Gimyujeong station, Exit 1.

We did a online booking already so just have to go redeem our tickets at the ticketing counter.

Price are by per bike at 2 seater bike is at 29000won ( SG$35.60 ) and 4 seater bike is at 39000won ( SG$47.60 ).

After so many days, finally I am seeing Autumn leaves!

We were almost late but luckily we manage to reach on time and have some extra time to walk around to take pictures. love this colourful umbrella! Is there amy meaning to those colourfu;l umbrella? I think there is quite a few country that has this display somewhere!

Time to get onto our bike!

And we are reading for our morning excise!

Part of the bike ride is that you ride the bike following the railway and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery next to you!

Another fun fact is that you get to ride pass some interesting tunnel! What do i mean by interesting tunnel? continue to read.

Ok, the first tunnel we pass by are just any other usual tunnel with real darkness inside.

Wow! This ahjuma actually sell corn at this kind of place! By right riders are not allow to stop by to purchase anything from the seller at the sid so the ahjuma need to actually catch up with the people buying from her.

Here comes the second tunnel!

As the first tunnel is just a normal tunnel so we thought that this tunnel should be the same but to our surprise it's not! Once we are in the tunnel, music starts to play, and little lights start to sparkle together with the romantic music.

Going into the third tunnel and we are all curious what will this tunnel be!

Guess what? It's 'Oppa Gangnam Style' ( a super famous dance song by Korean singer PSY years ago ) here! So the light changes and dance together with the music too! Looks like we just ride into a club! Haha!

Self ride ends at this beautiful view!

We will be having a 20 mins break before we continue our journey back to the ending point. Good thing that we went Lotte mart yesterday night if not we will not be able to enjoy snacks while resting.

We thought that we need to ride back to the ending point ourselves but actually after the break time, we are suppose to take the train back! Phew! We are kinda tired of riding already to be honest! Haha!

There is a photo booth just outside the ending point for purchasing your photo that they took at one of the point while you are riding.
*Keep a look out on the sign 'LOOK HERE' for nicer photo taking.*
We actually didn't know that there is camera until a tour guide was informing his tour member to keep a look out on the camera and we happen to hear it! ( not eavesdropping ya! )

The tickets includes a free shuttle bus back to Gimyujeong Station but the shuttle bus was located at quite a walking distance away from the railway ending point. No information on how to walk to the shuttle bus so we need to find the way ourselves! Follow the crowd is one way too!

I hope my direction does helps come people a bit. Once you exit the rail way, turn to your left and walk straight. You will be able to see this big GS25 right infront of you. Turn to you left again and continue walking. You will see a bridge on your right hand side.

This is the bridge you will see on your right hand side and the shuttle bus is below the bridge.

Next heading to another of my favorite street, Ewha Women's university! Meeting another of my Korean friend here for some coffee too!

From the station Exit 1 will lead you to this street, which is also the street I always start from.

Went into Noriter cafe to have some coffee before we start shopping!

Went here once with Pearlie before and love the interior inside!

It's not Christmas but yet I get to drink my favorite peppermint mocha ( Starbucks normally had it only during Christmas season )! Haha!

Meeting my third Korean friend, Jeong!

This is the building where the Norita cafe is at! ( picture was taken when we are leaving the place, therefore the sky is dark in this picture )

Argh! Raining while we are shopping! We ending up buying umbrella! Good thing it's only 2000won and you can see alot of people selling on the street with just one pile of umbrella! Haha! They only appear quickly when it starts to rain and disappear when the rain stops!

Dinner time! Not very sure what is it at this restaurant call 두끼 ( Dookki ), but seeing a lot of people going in and we follow! Haha! I shall name this as the Korean style of steamboat! Raining day is the best time to eat steamboat isn't it?

Guess what are these pots and metal bowl provided for?

Actually the small pot provided are for us put the sauces that we choose at the buffet table.

and of course the metal bowl is for us the put our food.

Ta da! The Korean style steamboat!

They have cooked food as well.

We also order the melted cheese at the side of the steamboat pot!

Operating Hours : 11am - 10.30pm

Ready to go back!

Yes we went back to our apartment but we went out again! Not other places but the Lotte Mart again!
Dogs are not allow inside so the owner of this dog actually put her in the shopping cart and the security helps to look after.

Today we are early so we will have more time to shop slowly! Haha!

Look what we found?! Bottled Gong Cha! Not found at Lotte mart but at the convenience store actually.
Anyway, time to sleep! Good night!
