Brisbane 2016 Day 7 & 8 : Byron farm -> Byron light house -> Gold Coast -> Direct Factory Outlet -> Singapore

Day 7 :

Good morning! We are ready to go!

And we are back to The Farm at Byron Bay again! Having breakfast at the Three Blue Ducks here and will be joining the farm tour later at 10am.

Many people are here for their breakfast!

We do not have enough time for the breakfast meal so we choose to get their pastry instead. Their pastry is famous too!

I asked to toast my croissant and it ended up serve flatten! Haha! But I have to say this is so yummy!

Sausage bun is nice too!

Not forgetting our daily coffee!

Farm tour starts now ( 10am )!

Farmer trying to ask the piggy to show face but the piggy ain't happy about it. Haha!

Another group of piggy and finally we get to see them!

Such a nice weather!

Next, visiting the chicken family! Visitor can actually purchase a hen for 5AUD ( SG$5.30 ) back home to have them lay egg for you.

Brave boy trying to pet the chicken.

Happy boy after petting the chicken.

Next, we are heading to pick the macadamia nuts! They are one of the most expensive nuts in the market and we are here to pick some free ones! Haha!

Everybody trying their luck to find the nuts but it is actually not easy because most of the nuts shell is empty!

The happy boy learning to pick too!

I've got myself (only) 2!

Our group is big but this is only what we have got! Haha!

Using a big stone to crack the macadamia nut shells..

And tada! The famous Macadamia nut! It taste better when roasted! Haha!

Saying hi to the Mooooooo!

Finishing saying hi to the cows, off we go to the last station of the farm tour.

So the vegetable section is the last station! Here ends our farm tour and I am sure the kids had a great time!

Organic cola?! My first time seeing it but it taste as nice as the usual red bottle cola!

Lunch time! And this time we gonna try the 'Three Blue Duck' which supposingly we wanna try for yesterday's dinner.

We manage to order from the breakfast menu and we waited 30mins for them to start their lunch menu.

Only this, Black sausage with scramble egg is from the breakfast menu.

Starting the lunch menu now!

Coconut pork with green papaya and green mango. This is good and it taste like Thai mango salad!

Seaweed cured fish with avocado and squid ink crisp. Such a big plate but...

Portion is only this bit! Haha!

Roasted lamb shoulder. Overall, food here are good and worth trying!

After a yummy lunch, time to head off to another place, the coffee plantation!

Got lost half way through but we found a beautiful paradise so we stop by to take some picture! If I didn't remember wrongly, I think I saw the road sign saying Coolamon Scenic Drive.

Pass by this beautiful feather look alike cloud!

The coffee plantation that we wanted to visit close down already so we decided to head to the Cape Byron Light House instead of finding another plantation.

Oh ya, by the way, paying parking at the light house is a must because there is police there to collect the parking fees at the entrance and they do not allow any illegal parking at the roadside too. There is another car park area near by but the police will be there to collect fees as well.

We manage to see some wild whales jumping out the sea at the very far distance but everyone was amaze by that!

Cafe at the light house.

Photo bombed by this bird and by the way, this direction of the sea can actually see wild dolphin if we are lucky! But of course we are not that lucky!

Head back to the town area again!

First time using the parking machine to pay for our car park lot.

Back to the town to see if we have miss out any shop the other day and since this is the only place to shop.

Dessert before dinner? Why not?

I don't really like cake so no cake for me but it's Ice cream time!

Sun is setting and it's time for dinner!

Dinner at Harvest, one of the recommended restaurant there.

Open concept kitchen which give people a feeling like our own kitchen at home.

Outdoor dining area.

Kids friendly restaurant, they provide colouring paper and crayon to keep the kids entertained.

Green pea pasta for kids meal.

Fresh oyster.

Crudo.

Quail with mushroom.

Roasted suckling pig with bake apple. Yummy! This is worth trying! Love the bake apple ( and of course the pork... haha)!

Kangaroo loin.

Mini sugarloaf cabbage. This is surprisingly yummy!

Back home after the yummy dinner and look what this boy did when he is left alone in the room while the adults is outside having party! ( those white paper on his head is actually stickers pasted on the luggage... haha! )

Last night in Brisbane so we have another excuse to have a small party again! Haha! Finishing up our mini passion fruits, Bendaberg and cola!

Oh ya! Not forgetting the Magnum we bought! After our last party, time to sleep!
Good night!

Day 8 :

Good morning!

The owner's dog but we only get to see him today! Wonder where he hide to these few days...

We did a research on the restaurant on the way back to Brisbane and found this Mike's kitchen which is at the gold coast area.
If you gonna drive 2.5hrs, our advice is to do like us, find a place to eat at somewhere in between of you start and end destination, so that you can escape from driving for at least 1 hour. Driving straight 2.5hr is too torturing!
The restaurant opens at 12pm and when we reach just a little pass 12pm, the table is almost full already! I guess we didn't make the wrong choice!

Operating Hours : 12pm - 2.30pm and 5pm - 9pm ( Monday - Friday )
11.30am - 9pm ( Saturday and Sunday )

The place is almost fully reserved but the staff sees that we are not local and actually manage to squeeze one table for us! I guess they know that we will not take any time longer since we are just passing by this area.

Their menu.

Sizzling snails.

Farmhouse grilled chicken. This is good!

Chicken Parmigiana.

Pork rib is sooooooo good too!

Heading back to the city after the super yummy lunch! But wait! Why is this little boy driving?!

Last station before heading to the airport will be Direct Factory Outlet ( DFO ) which is just nearby the airport.

Coffee break before all the shopping starts!

Manage to grab some super low price item at cotton on!

Don't worry about hunger, because there is eatery area at the outlet mall too.

There is shops outside too.

Many well know sports brand here! But price is not cheap though.

Got a pair of Skechers here too!

DFO closing soon, sun gonna set soon and which means it's time to head to airport.

Wait! There is a big woolworths beside the DFO and how can we skip there right?

Last ( trust me, it's really last... ) shopping before leaving Brisbane!

Reached airport, return our cars, checked in and we are ready to say goodbye to Brisbane!

Dinner before boarding the plane!

Bye Brisbane! You have been good to us!

First time having Wanton mee for inflight dinner! As usual, after meal... Zzzzzzzz

Woke up, breakfast time and reached home!

We are back!
Gonna leave Singapore again in a few days time so stay tune to see when am I heading to!
