Korea - Seoul Day 4

Korea Day 4

It's raining today but it doesn't affect us shopping at Myeong Dong! Borrow an umbrella from the hotel and walk over to Myeong Dong for some crazy shopping.

Girls will just lost control here! And please do so! Because the Korean brand cosmetic here is much much cheaper back in Singapore! Almost all Korean brand can be found at Myeong Dong!

P/s: Sales staff there can speak Chinese so not to worry about communication problem. For those who don't speak Chinese, they can speak basic English too. Some shop they will have staff who speak three main language, English, Mandarin and Japanese. Look at badges pin on their uniform and you will know which language they can speak.

Étude house product are half price of Singapore! Grab as much as you can. They do sell items like mask, bb cream, cc cream in a bulk so look out for those. Buy some for your girlfriends back home like what I did!

Went back to our hotel to put our heavy stuff and had our brunch near our hotel. About two mins walk from Hotel Irene and you could find this restaurant. They serve really nice a
seafood porridge, dumpling soup and kimbap. The boss and lady boss were very friendly too.

After brunch, we went to Hongik to visit their trick eye museum.
How to go there: take train to Hongik University station, exit 9, about 4-8 mins walk. You will see a sign board stating Trick Eye Museum and it's at the basement of the building. We got confuse when we reach there cause the building doesn't look like a museum. Haha... But we follow the crowd downstairs and realize that the museum is at the basement.

Operation hours are from 10am to 9pm. Las entrance will be at 8 pm. Entrance ticket is selling at 13000 won for above 18 years old and 11000 won for below 18 years old.

P/s: please visit www.trickeye.com for more details.

We had so much fun with all the 3D arts.

Even the toilet has the 3D art. But I really got a shock when I see this! Haha!

After the trick eye museum, we went in to the Angel In Us Coffee cafe which is near by the museum for a rest and some tea break. Continue to walk around at the Hongdae before we head off back to Myeong Dong.

By right we should be heading back to Myeong Dong to look for places for the Korea sauna place a.k.s Jjimjibang, but while we are at Seoul station doing some research on which sauna to go and we found out that there is actually one near the Seoul station so we decided to just go to the nearby one.

Siloam sauna, Just 5-10 mis walk from the Seoul station. It's behind the station, just walk tru the Lotte mart, cross the road and you will see a slope and its up there!

You will see all this sign board along the slope and there you are at the Siloam Sauna.

Charges at Siloam are like :

It look exactly like the Korea drama! In the jjimjibang you see families gathering there, children playing around and people eating and watching tv there. We feel like a Korean there! We lie down there to relax ourselves and also went in to the sauna room.

P/s: you can stay overnight there too but of course you paid for your hotel so there is no reason why you have to sleep there right?

Three type of sauna room for you to choose and of course we went in all!

Saw on tv on how to fold the head towel so we tried and ta da! We totally look Korean now!

In the kdrama, they always eat egg after the sauna so we did the same! We also use the Korean way of cracking the egg and realize its painful and not easy to crack egg using our head!

We wanted to try the 'drink' that always appear in the kdrama too but we didn't know what is that so when we finally saw someone drinking, we ask our manae ( youngest member ) to go ask them where to get the drink and of course she is the one who will go and get it. From the picture we know that it's selling at level 2. Haha!

Yup! That's the drink! This is the ice sweet rice drink a.k.s Sikhye.

We're done to make ourselves fresh! Heated our body up and continue our night with the 7 degree temperate outside. Fighting!

Heading back to Myeong Dong to hunt for food and do some shopping again.

We were at Myeong dong shopping and there was this shop selling lots of accessories and look! they got a lot of variety for glasses! I bought two back! One at 10000 won and the other is at 12000 won.
We really shop till all shop is close and them we decided to go back to our hotel for our dinner cum supper at the street stall.

Our dinner cum supper place is just right below our hotel. This is also a street stall, a.k.a Pojangmacha which we always see in the kdrama.

All fresh seafood! They serve grill seafood and soju.

Although it's cold outside cause of the rain, we still wanna try to eat in Pojangmacha.

Just 5 people, we ordered 8 dishes!

The lady boss was friendly, food was fresh and yummy but was very expensive! We learnt a lesson today: ask the price before ordering. We really didn't expect that the price is so high since its only a street stall. Be prepared for the high price if you are going to try eating there and remember to ask the price before ordering. We paid around $200+ SGD for this meal ( including 6 soju)!

End of day four.
