Day 1:
It's time for a holiday again!
Can you guess where is this in Changi airport?
Going for a short trip to Chiang Mai, therefore no check in luggage, just hand carry luggage!
My travel buddy for this trip, Liyana and Teresa!
Who doesn't like extra leg room seats for free right?!
Reached Chiang Mai!
We got our eSim from Singapore but in case anybody need a Sim card from the airport, here's the price.
Gonna be a long drive, so we decided to grab some small bites while waiting for our driver.
Booked a driver recommended by Liyana's friend!
Here's the contact of our driver, in case you are looking for a driver in Chiang Mai.
We asked our driver if he could drop us somewhere for a quick lunch and he brought us to this restaurant call Khao Soi Lamduan that sells local Chiang Mai food.
When we are there, locals eating there is more than tourist, so I guess it's not a tourist trap.
Operating Hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm
Khao Soi, a kind of curry noodle that is origin from the northern Thailand, particularly famous in Chiang Mai.
Food is nice!
And then we ask the driver to drop us somewhere for a coffee and he brought us to this cafe call Mai Heun 60.
Operating Hours: 7.30am - 5pm (Wednesday to Monday)
7.30am - 5.30pm (Tuesday)
We don't know what to expect for the cafe since it's recommended by the driver, but the moment we walked in, it's a present surprise!
Looks like we walked into a fairyland!
Before we even reached the cafe, we pass by some small stalls that sells clothes and some handmade stuff.
There is also a waterfall inside the cafe.
And it's coffee time!
Got our nice driver a cup of coffee too!
After about an hour drive, finally we reach the mountain, where our hotel is located!
Tada! Our hotel, the 4sky Chiang Mai!
Website/booking: https://m.facebook.com/#!/4sky-101125142149378/
Look at the view!
The hotel lobby.
Haha seems like our driver love the view too!
Checking in and waiting for the staff to bring us up to our room.
Fur staff of the hotel!
Walking our way up to our room (luckily, the staff helped us with the luggage!).
Tada! The view from our room!
And our room!
Inside the room. Not big but it's enough for 3 people.
The outdoor toilet and bathroom!
Very... erm... outdoor... Haha!
No fence around so I assume this is not a place for kids and people who might be afraid of height.
Love this view from our room!
There is basically nothing much to do so we just take picture around our room!
Rest and relax while enjoying the fresh air and view!
When we saw the picture of the bathtub from the hotel picture, we are all very excited but end up to our disappointment, the bathtub seems to be quite dirty, so we ended up taking picture like this without using it.
We asked the hotel if there is massage in the hotel and they actually call a lady to our room for our massage. They lady seems to be a local who lives nearby the hotel area, not staff of the hotel because we pay directly to this lady.
Since there is only 1 masseur, we just chit chat, chill and slowly wait for our turn.
Sun setting soon and the staff is here to help us set up our dinner.
Dinner and breakfast are included in the booking by the way.
BBQ hotpot for dinner! It's a little chilly in the evening so hotpot is the best (but also the only choice)!
This is how dark when the sun goes down!
Halfway through our dinner, it starts pouring very heavily and the staff quickly came to set up tent for us even without us calling them for help!
Thanks to the tent, we can continue with our dinner.
Ok, now we see the downside of the outdoor bathroom!
Maybe is due to the heavy rain, the (I assume is) earthworm is crawling around the bathroom! I have never seen such a big and long earthworm! While of us bath, the other person will use the jet spray to "kick" the worms out of the area!
Oh ya, did I mention there is no lights in the shower area? Haha! We use HP torch because the portable light they gave us is almost equal as useless because they didn't fully charge it.
This bathroom or rather the hotel is really not for faint hearted people!
Luckily, we are staying just one night.
Day 2:
Good morning!
Many bugs in the already not very clean bathtub, thanks to the heavy rain.
OMG! This is huge!
Can't get enough of this view and the fresh air!
Breakfast time!
What are the chances that you can experience cloud passing through you while having breakfast (yes, it's chilly when the cloud pass through us)?!
Oh hello?
Wild dogs running freely around the mountain, but they will not come near to the room.
Too early for the fur staff to work?
We saw a swing and the hotel staff ask us to give it a try!
No prize to guess who is scared of the swing?
Last few photo of the beautiful mountain because we are heading back to city!
Last glance on this beautiful view!
Stop by this famous cafe call Dantewada, before we head off to our next hotel.
Operating Hours: 8am - 6pm (Monday to Sunday)
Need to pay 80baht (=SGD$3) per person to enter.
Before we start to explore the place, lunch first!
No English menu but thank God for Google translator!
Food is here!
Food was ok.
After lunch, time to explore the place!
This place is popular for their manmade waterfall! So beautiful, isn't it?
Every corner is a nice spot to take pictures!
Queue up to take picture here! I guess this is the iconic photo spot!
There is a little farm too! Look at these cute little goats!
This place is quite big; there is a big garden inside too!
Another manmade waterfall.
Bunnies!
There are a few handcrafted shops in here too.
I like this!
Finish exploring the place and time to go!
After another 1hr drive, here we are at our hotel!
Will be staying here at the Aksara Heritage Hotel for the next 3 night!
Checking in.
The pool area.
There is some cooking activity beside the lift and stairs.
It's free for all the guest staying there.
And tada! Our room for 3 pax with 3 beds!
The bathroom.
Fruits for us!
The balcony.
And pool view from our balcony.
Snacks bar and it's all for free! They will refill it every day!
There is a temple beside the hotel, but we didn't go in.
Walked over to Let's Relax Spa to book our massage for tonight.
Operating Hours: 10am - 12am (Monday to Sunday)
Booked our massage and off we head off to another place first before coming back.
Went shopping at the Central Festival.
Operating Hours: 11am - 9.30pm (Monday to Thursday)
11am - 10pm (Friday)
10am - 10pm (Saturday & Sunday)
Some carnival outside the mall starting to set up for the evening.
There is Gentle Women here, but the choices are quite limited.
And after shopping, it's dinner time!
Having Japanese BBQ for dinner at Sukishi.
Operating Hours: 11am - 9pm (Monday to Sunday)
Only Teresa drinking among this group but no problem for her to finish the whole bottle of Makgeolli.
Food overall is fine, how bad can BBQ be right?
Every country we go, we definitely will visit the supermarket! Haha!
Gotten ourselves some drinks and supper.
Carnival starts already but we are too old for these, so off we go! Haha!
Back to Let's Relax for our massage!
Welcome drinks as usual!
Let's Relax is one of the Spa place I will visit whenever I visit any part of Thailand as long as they have it there!
This lift reminds me about the vintage lift I took in Europe, those that you need to manually close the lift door!
Let's get started!
This masseur is very good but sorry I can't remember her name, but I think she is the only one with this hair cut!
After a nice massage, mango sticky rice to end!
11pm and the road is so empty.
Walking back to our hotel which is just a few mins walk!
Pass by this hotel entrance that remind me about Arashiyama in Kyoto!
Back to hotel, showered and supper time!
And good night!
