Chiangmai 2023 Day 3 to 5: Jing Jai Market -> Think Park -> MAYA Lifestyle Shopping Center -> The Phae Gate -> Pantip Shopping Mall -> Big C Extra -> Ploen Ruedee Night Market -> Kalare Night Bazaar -> Chiang Mai Night Bazaar -> Makkha Health & Spa -> Singapore

 Day 3:

Good morning! Breakfast at the hotel with quite a lot of variety.

Off we go!

First stop of the day: Jing Jai Market!

Operating Hours: 8.30am - 9pm (Monday to Friday)
6.30am - 10pm (Saturday & Sunday)

The market is quite big with many stalls but still consider small as compared to those market in Bangkok and also not many people at this Jing Jai market.

This handmade bag is so cute!

Nice Vase but not something we could bring home.

Shopping shopping!

This crochet stall sells cute crochet earrings!

This Good Goods place located in the Jing Jai Market, sells hand crafted items and sold for good deeds, so we went in to support them.

Operating Hours: 9am - 6pm (Monday to Friday)
7am - 5pm (Saturday & Sunday)

There is a cafe inside too.

Too warm, need an air conditional cafe and enjoy a cup of ice-cold coffee.
There is quite a few cafes here so we just randomly picked this Roastniyom Coffee.

Operating Hours: 7am - 7pm (Monday to Friday)
8am - 7pm (Saturday & Sunday)

Coffee break!

Walked to Jing Jai Village.

Thought of having lunch here but nothing seems to interest us, so we decided to find another place for lunch.

Wanted to go to a cafe but got curious about this restaurant beside the cafe.

Walked in, checked their menu, selling local food but somehow the menu didn't attract us so we left.

Back to the initial cafe we wanted to go, the La.moon Cold Cafe.

Operating Hours: 9am - 6pm (Monday to Sunday)

They have brunch here.

Food and coffee are not bad.

After lunch, we went to the Think Park area to shop around.
This Playworks are quite popular among tourist who loves cute and unique stuff.

Operating Hours: 9am - 10pm (Monday to Sunday)

Not a big place and it was quite crowded inside.

Got myself a tee shirt!
Coffee + Travel + Dog = I must get it!

Walking through the small alley beside Playworks to the Think Park for more shops.

Handmade notebook?

I think this place will be more happening in the evening when the Think Park night market starts.

Walked over to the Maya Lifestyle shopping center for more shopping!

Operating Hours: 10am - 10pm (Monday to Sunday)

First brand to visit, Mistine!
Heard that their eyeliner is good and I got myself some colored hair shampoo!

Teresa and Liyana's mind purpose to this mall, the Panpuri!

Ok, they are going to spend very long here.

So, I went to shop around the mall while they are stuck at the Panpuri.

Japanese drugstore can be found here!

Meet up with them and continue the shopping.
Another brand they wanted to get from this mall is Harnn.

Our shopping loot! Got myself a Fila jacket and sneakers at a great deal!

Sun is setting and time for dinner!

Walked over to Nara Thai Cuisine for some Thai food!

Operating Hours: 11am - 9.30pm (Monday to Sunday)

No chance to eat the famous crab omelette in Bangkok so we try it from here.

Lots of crab meat inside!

Food overall is nice, but the price point is on the higher side.

Think Park night market starts but nothing interests us, so we left.

Shinjuku inspired? (if you understand what I mean)

Grab back to our hotel but stop by The Phae Gate, one of the iconic spots to take picture and also just walking distant from our hotel.

Went into Single Origin, which is just opposite the Phae Gate, to grab some of their coffee beans.

Operating Hours: 7.30am - 9pm (Monday to Sunday)

Didn't get coffee beans but I got drip coffee bags and some pins!

Walked over to Makkha Health & Spa wanted to try our luck to see if there is slot for massage but ended up its full house, so we booked for tomorrow instead.

Back to Let's Relax! Luckily, they have slot for massage.

Time to enjoy!

Wanted the same masseur as yesterday but she is currently helping someone else, too bad but this masseur is fine too.

Hand massage is much needed after carrying all our shopping loot today! Haha!

My first time doing head and shoulder massage on this chair!

The familiar mango sticky rice again!

Supper for tonight!

Love the pins from Single Origins!

And I got both of these items from Fila (at Maya Lifestyle shopping center) at around SGD$130 after discount! I think in Singapore this amount can only get me that pair of sneakers!

Anyway, time to sleep! Good night!

Day 4:

Good morning! Skip the hotel breakfast because Liyana and I wanna sleep in while Teresa went nearby for her manicure.
Walked over to Stories Cafe for brunch while waiting for Teresa to finish. Quite crowded, seems like this cafe is a popular place!

Operating Hours: 7.30am - 9pm (Monday to Sunday)

Coffee here is... soso...

But food is not bad.

After finishing the food and coffee, Teresa is still not here yet so we order another drink.

And cake.

Teresa finished her manicure and came over to the cafe to meet us. Now her turn to eat!

Again, went to Single Origin which is located next to Stories Cafe.

Their different type of coffee beans here!

Try out their matcha latte.

Back to our hotel to put some stuff and saw there is some activity again at the lift lobby!

Head off next to Pantip shopping mall.

Big C Operating Hours: 9am - 12am (Monday to Sunday)

Just for the Big C here!

This Big C here is quite small.

So, we decided to head to a bigger Big C.

Operating Hours: 9am - 10pm (Monday to Sunday)

So much bigger here!
Ok shopping time!

After shopping at the supermarket, time for some high tea at Saruda Finest Pastry.
Should have come here yesterday because it's at the area where we are shopping yesterday but we spend the whole-time shopping and didn't have time to try.

Operating Hours: 10am - 8.30pm (Monday to Sunday)

Their pastries all look so beautiful!

I'm not a sweet tooth person so all I can say the tarts are not bad, but I prefer the 'Daisy' because its lemon tart.

I had Yuzu Americano, and it was not bad too!

Tea for the two of them.

After high tea, we head off to the night market but since the grab driver drop us at this shop, we shall walk in to have a look. Haha!

Operating Hours: 4pm - 11pm (Monday to Sunday)

Luckily, we walked in, many interesting stuffs here!

Love the cheese board!

Wooden spoons are perfect for scooping honey, and I also got myself the mini scoop for my coffee beans!

And next to the shop is the Ploen Ruedee night market.

Operating Hours: 6pm - 12am (Monday to Saturday)
Closed (Sunday)

This night market seems to be more on food and looks quite boring here, so we decided to walk to another night market.

Walked over to Kalare night market which is just nearby.

Operating Hours: 4pm - 11.30pm (Monday to Sunday)

Many artists here selling paintings.

And you can get portrait painting here too.

3D painting of pets! Love this!

It's a Saturday and the night market seems to be a little quiet, very different from the night market in Bangkok. Make me wonder, did we go to the wrong night market?

There are also many food stalls here, so we decided to have our dinner here.

Getting some papaya salad and other food!

The only Halah stall is the Mexican stall.

One last night market, Chaing Mai night Bazaar which is located opposite Kalare night market.

Operating Hours 5pm - 12am (Monday to Sunday)

This night bazaar is even worse! Most of the stalls are not even open so nobody shopping here.
We are so confused with all the night market here! Haha!

The grab driver again drops us at the Phae Gate (because it's at the main road) but while walking back to our hotel, it starts to rain!

The rain is so heavy that we need to take shelter at every few shops (not all shops have shelter) until we reach our hotel to take the hotel umbrella!

Time to enjoy our last massage for the trip and today is at Makkha Health & Spa located in the Burirattana Hotel!

Operating Hours: 10am - 11pm (Monday to Sunday)

Need to fill up customer information and also can state on the paper, which area we want the masseur to focus on.

Welcome tea!

Let's get started!

The massage here is slightly higher than Let's Relax and Teresa and Liyana prefer the massage here, but I prefer Let's Relax.
Anyway, massage pretty much depends on the masseur so it's all about personal preference.

They also serve mango sticky rice here too!

After massage, back to hotel to pack our luggage and good night!

Day 5:

Breakfast at the hotel before heading to the airport!

Reached the airport and the queue is already so long.

While queuing, we took turn to get our tax refund customs check and stamp.

So basically, you need to bring your tax refund form, passport, your purchases and your flight number for the custom counter personnel to check and they after checking, they will give the custom stamp on your tax refund form.

Finally our turn. We didn't add in check in luggage when we fly here but we did purchase check in luggage when we fly back!

Not too bad, 3 luggage + 3 baggage and we are still within 60kg!

After immigration, head to the tax refund counter to get our refund back in cash.

Using the refunded cash and enjoy my last cup of Thai milk tea!

Time to say goodbye to Chiang Mai!

Free extra leg room seats again! How lucky are we!

Anyway, that's all for the trip!
Stay tune for my next holiday!
